Good info. I was told at the dealership each bottle is around $5-8??? I will need this since I'll be done with my warranty in a few more months.
I got my 10K done on Monday. I asked for and they gave me the empty bottle with the special top. The guy indicated that the nozzle part breaks tabs if unscrewed making it basically a one time use bottle. I am pleased to report that he was wrong and I was able to unscrew the top, add fluid to the bottle and use it. So, in my case, it's a reusable bottle. Buy DEF at Autozone for about $5 when the warranty/service runs out and use the specialized bottle to fill. If the nozzle part wears out or breaks, I'll just buy one more bottle of it and keep refilling that.
Looks like ECS Tuning has them if needed
I also found this pretty informative FAQ page on DPF systems and AdBlue stuff including a filling video.
Walmart sells 2.5 gallons of DEF for $14. Includes it's own flexible nozzle for refill. If I had a TDI and saw the thread about dealers spilling this stuff in my trunk, I would just do it myself to avoid the whole issue of them being sloppy.
I got one of the small dealer bottles for $9. I plan on refilling it with truck stop fluid.
