Thread: New wheels :)

  1. 05-09-2012 07:59 PM #1
Here they are ... BBS lorinser/rt's. 17x8.5, still need to get some bbs caps for them but let me know what y'all think ... And I have to take my vr lip off to get out of my driveway and didn't feel like putting it back on for the test drive...

I dont want my J-Lines anymore...

hate to start this thread off on the wrong foot, but I really don't care for any of it.

I'm sure it's fun to drive though.

Respect the input I guess, won't get but hurt... The bumper had to get cut because the intercooler is rather large... It looks much better with the vr lip though

I'll make some videos on the way to sowo... It pulls hard... New stretched tires make it spin 4th... Dangit..
Car runs beautifully though, made 501hp @ 17psi (low boost) ... Motors built for about 30psi but apparently my fueling setup has some bugs in it

you're kinda trying to do two different styles at once here.

if i was making 500 hp, i'd have gone a totally different route on wheels / suspension. basically i'd be driving on the street on drag radials, fats and skinnys. dgaf

I definately agree with you on this note, but... Even though my setup belongs In a gutted drag car, I still wanted it to look the vw part at the same time... I know my style is more of a motorsport style but I feel like that goes with my setup better than anything

Intercooler and bumper kills it. I would have liked to see a more creative approch to this.

Just a lot of work cleaning up that bumper then to chop it . I like those wheels thoe man.

It wasn't the work cleaning it up part... It was the fact that my "welder" set my intercooler up about 1.5" too low and me not being able to weld couldn't modify it... Either way, the 750hp intercooler is hard to fit on the mk3

Chris collier @c2 should know a bit about my setup , he helped me with my last vrt ... Almost went with c2 again but after having a fully race built motor I just felt like lugtronic would be the best route...

Anyhow... Shrick cams , wossner pistons , ie rods, dart coated bearings, ferrea race valve train, arp rod main and head bolts ... GT3582r (35/40) twinscroll tubular manifold, dual tial 38 mvs's , tial alpha q bov, lugtronic standalone ems , 3" exhaust

Ps: these are the last pics I took with the lip on, sorry... Just got back from Afghanistan

I don't think its too bad, at least the lip stays on. I think it looks better than bumpers that are cut upwards in between the turnsignals.

Would love to see a video of this beast
