My GTI came in today and was picked up by my mother (I am at a Military School in VA)
Made it one of the best birthdays of all time.

      Here is the info:
      2012 VW GTI
      2-Door 6-Speed
      Carbon Steel Grey
      Sunroof/Nav Package

      Plans (in order):
      Carbonio Intake
      Eurojet Gen II TB Exhaust
      OZ 18" Superturismo GT's (Black/Red)
      Bilstein PSS Coilovers
      APR Intercooler

These are the pics that she sent me:

I knowww. But, I can swing the intake without the deal and I'm not planning on getting the intercooler until around this time next year so hopefully there will be another sale going on. How much does it typically cost to put tint on at a shop?

shop close to my base for 3M tint 100 for the car in color stable. 300 for ceramic. 125 for 70?or 80% on the front window. ( definetly recomend front window! ) ( still not sure if i could say the same for the $200 difference in color stable vs Ceramic maybe someone else will chime on that)

Depends on the type of tint you opt for. For "normal" tint of whatever darkness you choose, it's typically in the $100-150 range. Some tinters will charge a little more to go darker than legal, some just won't do it....Shop around!

It's VMI's sister school called Fishburne. We have the same structure, uniforms, and rules of conduct as VMI. They also come and conduct inspections. Its not bad.

Hey man the white is super clean, and in the end it was up to my stepfather. I would have loved either color. Do you think it is worth it to get Ceramic?

When did you get your sunrf/nav? It took the dealer forever to find mine.

I've got this tint on my car

      http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3...omotive_Films/

I've had it for two years and it is still as solid as day one. I would recommend shopping around for a high quality installer in your area though. I have some dirt in my tint and it drives me crazy

      ^^^ lol!!

I'm sure the GTI was more "fun" to drive, but no way is it better than the R class MB.

      Although, I love mine.

That is what I was thinking but then again my mom isn't exactly car savvy. She likes anything that drives so who knows.

Mine is candy white too... haha

Im not sure ill probably end up doing mine in ceramic on the MK6 because of its head repelling or whatever ability and we have a baby on the way so wifey will be rocking the mk6 more than i will be. color wise.. i think it looks about the same... i will only go with 3M tint because it has done me well in the past. 6 years on the mk5 and still looks new. that was the color stable so its up to you. if we didnt have a rugrat on the way i would probably go with color stable again. ( tint the front window!!!)
