    So it rained for the first time in like months here today... and I found a new problem. My wipers have always acted funny. Moving an inch or two when I shut the car off... just being weird. Today I went to clear the windshield after it was parked and the driver's side only moved about 4 inches and the passenger side was working fine.. which is not good. The question is this: is our motor a standard one? I can pick one up at the auto parts in the morning, but I don't even want to go there if it is some special, german-made, nazi-killing part.

    Any ideas on this?

    I've never attacked the wipers on this car, but one motor that runs both through a framework is pretty common.

    I'd guess it's that framework that's blown a joint somehow.

    The Peach man is most likely correct; try that

    If you mean every time you turn off the car the wipers twitch a bit; that's actually perfectly normal and a design feature. It helps prolong the wiper blade service life and keep them from deforming or forming bad edges.

    @Saabstory02

    That is good to know.

    @Peach

    I took the arm off to check for any stripping. It looks like when the dealer replaced my upper strut mounts and bearing, they did not install the wiper arm correctly. The must have just loosely put the arm on there and did not fully tighten it because it is about 75% stripped. I wrapped some heavy electrical tape around the stalk twice and fit the arm back down. After tightening, it worked just fine. I would bet it won't give me any more issues... but if it does I appreciate the breakout. Looks like I would need a new arm and motor w/stalk if so.

    Appreciative as always.
