    long story short...

got car ghetto dyno'd...made crap #'s...
got car re dyno'd with better/more readings...same crap #'s but with reasoning...

the very knowledgeable and educated owner of the shop said i was running too lean, this being why i am not making peak power. could this be a software issue i am having? mind you without me saying a word on what im SUPPOSED to be making and him never hearing of APR or any VW tuners for that fact (hes a nissan/subi tuner) asked me if i should be making near 360 (APR states 366 on theri website).

the red dotted line on the AFR graph shows the lean/rich...above is lean...below is rich

any ideas on whats going on?

NO CELs, no soft codes, no leaks

I dont see anything wrong with it. your making pretty good numbers there.. there are people out there making less and running richer. I mean, you could make more power if you had more fuel and boost, but its still good

314whp... That's pretty much what most of the APR TSI K04s are putting down on Dynojets.

If you're concerned things aren't running well, run some logs and post them up.

THE ONLY thing i can think of, is get rid of your Forge twintake and use an intake which keeps the stock MAF and housing. APR tunes for this on their K04 tune, and it may be affecting the lean condition which MAY be keeping your numbers a bit lower.

AWE/GIAC tune for their k04 kit with an intake which uses a different MAF housing, and Revo does too. Unitronic tunes for stock MAF housing as well as APR i believe. It's just my theory but something you may want to look into.

I specifically remember Arin saying a while back that with the k04 they tuned it with MAF being stock as they run it with their Carbonio, and some people were having issues with intakes that relocated it.

Numbers look good, but considering you have every bolt on imaginable I would hope you would be making in the 325whp range.

How about valves, have they been cleaned?

    numbers seem legit
If you are that worried run some logs before you start pointing fingers.

also what are your torque numbers?

and the most important question of all, how does the car drive and are you happy with it?

That is probably the most powerful APR K04 I have seen to date... 366 is BHP and 314 is WHP.. most APR K04 run 290-315.

Now i'm new to this motor but i was under the impression they ran lean compared to port-injected motors? Maybe not this lean (?), but lean.

Also, doesn't an engine usually make more power when running lean (maybe not this lean???), but also lots more heat leading to all sorts of awful things?

so i took some logs on a 4th gear pull (same pull as dyno) and this is what i found...

if someone has any insight on this...please explain as i am new to taking logs and such

I think the logs dont look bad at all.. you have a little timing pull but from what i understand it is normal to have a little.. You should post on golfmk6 if you want more help.. Grambles over there knows alot about what you should be seeing with the APR K04

The logs look spot on, really. As I discussed with the OP, the car is not running too lean and meeting requested boost so there's no indication of underperformance. Mildly speculating that there is insufficient cooling/airflow on the dyno itself so we agreed to run logs on the next dyno. We'll see what they yield shortly.

take off then forge twintercooler forge twin take they dont pair up good with APR!

also i think APR's power figures on there webpage are not WHP but horsepower to the motor

So 360hp to the motor and your putting out 310 whp not to bad at all, plus all dynos are different. It seems thou your dyno is pretty honest

lol im happy with my configuration...despite what "works well" with APR. i was a major player in the 2 pieces on the TSI motor so its sentimental to me if you may. plus im not to fond of the other options out there (no offence to those companies but its to each his own right?).
