So my last "tell the car lounge about your cars" thread became way too much work - here's a new take.

Based on the cars you have owned, are you Axis, Allies, or Switzerland. Give yourself one point for each Allies car, and subtract one point for each Axis car.

If you end up with a positive score, you're Allies. If you get a negative score, you're Axis. If you wind up at zero, you're Switzerland.

Only street driven cars apply - your Honda lawnmower doesn't count. Cars that you've owned that have never had a tag on them don't count either.

Brief history reminder, for people who don't know who was who (bcuz 2 buzy txting in class).

    Allies:
    U.S.A.
    Britain
    France
    USSR
    Australia
    Belgium
    Brazil
    Canada
    China
    Denmark
    Greece
    Netherlands
    New Zealand
    Norway
    Poland
    South Africa
    Yugoslavia

    Axis:
    Germany
    Italy
    Japan
    Hungary
    Romania
    Bulgaria

For the purposes of this thread, we'll use the corporate home nation as the nation of the car, EG - a MKIV GTI is still German (Axis) even though it was built in Brazil (Allies).

The recent MINI's are German, classic Minis are British.

GM-era Saabs are American, Pre-GM Saabs would be Neutral.

    For me, it's been:

    Honda -1
    Chevy +1
    Ford +1
    VW -1
    Jeep +1
    VW -1
    BMW -1
    Lexus -1

    So I am -2, Axis.

    Which side are you on?

    Ford: +1
    Chevy: +1
    VW: -1

So I am Allies by history, but I have the feeling that as my life progresses I will go to the dark side.

Also, idea: if you have a Swedish car, instead of it counting zero, it should bring your total one point back to zero either way you are. So add everything up, then at the end if you're, say, -3 (Axis) and you have had two Volvo's, you are now -1. And vice versa.

"Artificial Intelligence usually beats natural stupidity." <---- If we apply that logic to driverless cars, the future of commuting should be just fine.

We'll count GM owned Saabs as American, Pre-GM Saabs would be Neutral.

I'll add that to the OP.

    Well, I would say Allies.
Built in America under a partnership between the Chrysler Corporation and Mitsubishi Motors.
Hence the Diamond(Mitsubishi) Star(Chrysler) Motors moniker.
Initially Diamond-Star Motors was a 50-50 joint venture between Chrysler and Mitsubishi. However, in 1991 the Japanese company purchased its partner's equity stake, and thereafter the manufacture of Chrysler vehicles was on a contractual basis. Chrysler sold its equity stake to Mitsubishi in 1993, and Diamond-Star Motors was renamed to Mitsubishi Motors Manufacturing America (MMMA) on July 1, 1995. Despite the departure, the two companies have maintained various co-operative manufacturing agreements since.
So it might go both ways. Maybe neutral due to joint axis/allies venture.
