This thread is for videos and pictures of activities that are unforgiving. If you make a mistake riding a 70 foot wave or at isle of man going 200mph on your bike...you're going to die.

Inspired by a few videos I've seen recently -

    78ft wave ride:

    the isle of man tt:

a classic - "grinding the crack:"

Feel free to post up videos and pics of these sort of activities. Lets be honest, who wouldn't enjoy a thread full of death defying stunts and activities?

Of course it's company policy never to, imply ownership in the event of a dildo... always use the indefinite article a dildo, never your dildo.

We just took a class on risk assessment. It's like learning how to jump out of planes, driving or riding a motorcycle. It's not the most dangerous when you're first learning. It's when you become familiar with it to stop being comfortable but not seasoned enough to actually be experienced that you're most likely to make a mistake and pay.

According to his wikipedia page, he died, ironically enough, when his rope broke:

Dan Osman died November 23, 1998 at the age of 35 after his rope failed while performing a "controlled free-fall" jump from the Leaning Tower rock formation in Yosemite National Park.

    Edit:

Here's a vid explaining what happened. He was doing free-fall jumps with a rope. He broke the record with a 1000 foot jump (), went back a couple days later to do another one, and the rope snapped. This vid is of the record jump, but not the fatal job.

Maybe this thread should be about dangerous activities that COULD cause death, not ones that actually do.

That's the Soviet worker for you. Just meet the goal of the 5-year plan. Hell, after you hoist it up there, no one's going to see the welds anyway . The factory zamdirektor and gorispolkom of the city will be proud and you might get several Rubles bonus for timely completion .

Agreed. Let's focus on the stunts themselves. Often times you have to lack imagination to do this stuff anyway!

    Moar!!!

The stairway to heaven climb video gives me pretty strong vertigo

I can't even comprehend how those towers are built in the first place.

    Edit to add:

I've always thought these redbull flying guys were nutty. Mistake could result in death.
