Thread: pics of the 'S' interior?

  1. 05-10-2012 05:14 PM #1
I've been interested in a Passat, I leased a TDi Golf a few months ago but the seats are killing my back. I've finally got a VW customer service rep who is working with me to get me out of the Golf and into another VW. I like the size of the Passat but I don't like the pleather seating. It seems like the cloth interior is only available on the base model trim and none of the local stealerships have one in stock for me to look at.

If anyone here has a cloth interior and could post a few pics of the seats and overall interior I'd appreciate it!

What is wrong with the vinyl seats? I have a CC and they are the most comfortable seats I ever had. Vinyl cleans up better and wears better than either cloth or leather. VW does a great job with their vinyl. I got 56k miles of "seat" time and they are holding up great with no wear.

i think to the untrained eye--the seats appear leather. They are great.

Hmm.. I'm encountering the same issue. Had I known my ass would kill me if I take a trip that lasts longer than an hour, I would've opted for the cloth seating avail in the S than the SE (My wife wanted a sunroof, and they didn't make the S model with the sunroof...). I believe the Vinyl is a bit harsh, however, I'm expecting it to soften up with use...I hope?

the seats look exactly the same but i hafta say, i thought the cloth in the S interior was crap.

was not a fan at all -- the pleather is better by far. i just wish VW wasn't putting such flat seats in all their cars except the high end trim levels. my B5 had perfect bolstering in both the front AND rear seats.

To be honest, all non-sport seats are going to be basically flat. The material's won't change that.
