OC has beaches, beautiful ones. The valley has pot clubs, ****ty restaurants and meth heads. Your logic is flawed.

Again with the meth heads. We've had this discussion before. You're several countines off with the meth heads. And, as far as I'm aware, you're Mr. #1 Fan of pot clubs, so what's the problem?

Also, I don't remember you complaining about restaurants in the Valley before.

Chastsworth, pacoima, van nuys and sylmar are not counties off.

Let's not bring my recreational activities onto the web.

I didnt complain about the restaurants...well, because I was partaking in said recreational activities.

OC has pot clubs, ****ty restaurants and plenty of meth heads. Have you ever been to Huntington Beach?

    Either way, OC>valley

I haven't seen one ****ty restaurant, pot club or meth head in Laguna Niguel.

In any case, I'll take ****ty restaurants, pot clubs and meth heads at the beach any day over the same in the valley. Theres like 10 landfills in the valley, and the entire area is blocked in by mountains, the stench lingers.

Eh, you can't really classify all of OC as such based on Long Beach and Huntington Beach. It has plenty of really nice communities.
And personally, I would take OC over the greater Los Angeles area any day. Better roads, better area, nicer people IMO. Although the greater LA area has more character. Depends on what you're into.

We're not comparing greater LA to OC, we're comparing just the valley to OC, where OC wins.

In terms of LA vs OC; i think LA takes massive dumps on OC.

BTW what the hell is it with the BRoDozers in OC? Literally just across the border from LA the roads are inundated with backward cap wearing jacka$$e$ in those monstrosities.

It sure gets annoying working in DC, especially because I have to commute from Virginia.

    Worst traffic in US
    1st - (tie) Chicago, Washington, D.C. – 70 hours
    3rd - Southern California – 63 hours
    4th - Houston – 58 hours
    5th - San Francisco-Oakland – 49 hours
    6th - (tie) Dallas-Fort Worth, Boston – 48 hours
    8th - Atlanta, Seattle – 44 hours
    10th - New York- Newark – 42 hours

It's an expensive place to live, for sure... Not many young middle class families can afford it.

I was stuck in that traffic coming home. This is why I drive an auto. Oh screw OC, South OC FTW. LA is full of wannabes and douchebags.

You mean southern OC (i.e. Irvine) Anaheim, Santa Ana, and areas of Northern OC such as the "hispanic/asian gang-filled" sides of Fullerton/Buena Park aren't exactly nicer to live in than parts of LA County such as Walnut/Diamond Bar. Now if you're talking about the city of LA itself, I'll have to agree Either way, SD > SF > LA.

I lived in 91789 (Walnut) before moving to the Philadelphia Main Line. I like it here better surprisingly

I'll take LA over both OC and the Valley, but if I had to choose between the 2, I'd reluctantly choose OC (maybe Seal Beach). Certain parts of OC, specifically Irvine seem like a utopia at times. Everything is so perfect...the grass, the asphalt, the parking lots, it's just too neat, ya know?

And it's impossible to be in Huntington and not see brodozers galore...it's where they go to breed. My ex used to live down there and she'd always wanna go to the Ruby's on the pier. The crowds at Fred's and the other bars on Main St. were always the same...acting like they own the world.

But then whenever I'm in the valley (which is fortunately rare), I feel like it's 30 deg hotter (which it usually is) and it just feels weird to me...I always look forward to leave and usually take Sepulveda south since at least that's a fun road.

Its the "Orange Curtain". They are in a bubble. Behind all the neat grass and nice homes, there are plenty of pill poppers and adultery.

So OC is like Fancy, CT.

Only we get snow and hurricanes. Oh and we have better regional baseball teams.

All I can say is that any part of SoCal makes norcal look boring. That's probably where I'd head to once I'm done with school here in SF.

There's definitely a bubble. I still remember in high school I was talking to this girl who lived in Orange County and asked her if she had ever been to Hollywood. Her response was,

"Ummm...yeah, I think my parents took me there once when I was 5."

Dude, it's Hollywood, not Hawaii...it's not like the whole family had to coordinate their vacation time, find a dog sitter, hold the mail, ask the neighbors to watch the house, take a cab to John Wayne airport, fly to LAX, get a rental car, and then use a TomTom to figure out how to get to the Chinese Theatre...
