Decided to buy a "kit" shed from Home Depot.

    $1,000
    8x12ft
    wood construction
    6ft height, plus small loft
    http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1...&storeId=10051

However, this kit is not complete so I had to spend a good $400 on concrete, lumber, shingles, paint, etc. But that is usually the case with these wood kits, which is what I wanted. Decided to go with the kit (and not custom) because 8x12 is big enough, and having everything pre-cut saves A LOT of time.

For the foundation, after removing the sod we drilled 9 holes about 3ft deep with an auger. Filled with concrete, leveled, and used that for the foundation

Laid down 3 12ft 4x4 posts, secured with huge ass L-brackets

The rest is pretty self explanatory, the kit goes up pretty easy

Inside this kit has a pretty huge loft. Nice since it's 6ft off the floor

Painted base color, and roof is complete

and just finished today! Took about 3 full days. Just have to get more white paint for the trim and finish landscaping

Finally, I can once again have a clean garage

I would never use power out there, the transom window provides decent light during the day, but they also make those solar powered lights for sheds too... But I didn't want to incur the cost.

For ramps I found a pair of aluminum ones on Amazon for $75 http://www.amazon.com/36-Aluminum-St...6757703&sr=8-1
Work perfect, cheaper than Sears etc.

I didn't want to build a permanent ramp, it's hard to make those look good. Only reason for a ramp is my lawn tractor, so little removable ones were the route I took.

Still need to finish edging, landscape stone, plants, sheet metal around base... if I ever get around to it lol

    Nice job

I'll second the power recommendation. I keep my tractor, '83 GTI, and '12 Electraglide in my shed during the winter months. Battery Tenders are a must-have.

I wanted it in that corner but:
    • easement from the power lines (20')
    • gate behind it
    • ease of mowing around it
    • my yard is pretty huge so there was space to sacrifice

My garage is heated so I keep/charge my bike in there
Plus I would've had to pull a permit to run power

size of yard taken from opposite corner
