Door not open

Anyone have a problem with opening your door and the interior lights not coming on and the dash showing that all the doors are closed? Only does it to my driver side door.

I had the exact opposite happening to my Jetta. I lost all power in the door. Take the rubber boot off and see if the wires or insulation are cracked and/or broken.

EDIT: I put a new harness in my door. It was easy and took about 20 minutes.

I got mine from VWpartsdept.com. Fast shipping and $50 less than the dealer.

Everything still works on the door. Switches and lights. It just doesn't understand that the door is open. Only does it when it wants to tho.

Yes. Same exact problem, with the same exact door (the driver)..Personally it never bothered me that much, So i never looked into fixing said problem.
