So as of recently, when slowing or driving downhill, my driver's side headlight(possibly both) flicker and look like its about to go out or a loose connection. Can't really figure out how to troubleshoot this.

Mine do it too. Mine flicker quite a bit then one of them will turn off and I get a warning on the dash saying dipped headlight. I have to turn my headlights off for a few seconds then turn them back on and they will work again. Atleast for a little bit till they flicker and go out again.

Mine were flickering then would turn off. I would have to turn it to the off position then turn it on again for them to come on.

I replaced the d1s bulbs and it fixed the problem.

Having similar issue on my passenger side. ('07 B7 TDI)

How easy/difficult is this to DIY? I've read it's a nightmare that involves removing the bumper? I already have the new capsules but don't want to get into it if it's that ridiculous.

There is a DIY or 2 over on Audizine if you do a search... apparently you can do it without removing the bumper.

Haha yep, just found that a couple of days ago... seems like the non-bumper removal route is as bad or worse than removing the bumper. Looks like I'm going to end up paying someone to do it
If it has boobs or wheels, sooner or later you're gonna have problems with it.
