Been watching this build, and have been i love with it since. Being a 3.6 passat woner I cna appreciate the characteristics of this motor in all aspects. I can only imagine how it feels in a smaller car and with the 6spd.
Can you give me the lowdown on the exhaust setup? I am assuming you are using the stock passat downpipes with 4 cats, and then it merges to a r32 exhaust somewhere down the middle? Any work done to the manifolds?
Also, if you havent already swapped to the all black fixed position intake manifold found on late BLV's and I think all bws's, DO you know what type of gains you might receive? its the same manifold that also comes on the euro r36![]()
and those seats.....Id like to see some driving videos if you have any. fly bys, ANYTHING to hear/see this car under load.

We are in the process of working out the kinks on the new black single length manifold. Will have more details this weekend.
As for the exhaust, right now we are using the 3.6 headers into the stock 3.2L cats and stock catback. That is all going to be changed next week with high flow cats and a larger diameter exhaust.

IIRC the 3.6 is actually a few pounds lighter than the 3.2.

correct 10-15 lbs I think, I dont remember the exact figure,
thanks for the info on the exhaust. I contacted UM about getting a tune made fo rmy wagon, and they told me your car was in there getting the manifold swapped on (my car came with it from the factory, 2008 model year) So if it is the better manifold, this will excited me for obvious reasons. Please keep me posted on what gains if any you see from the new exhaust setup.

You're welcome for the videos. I'll definitely keep you posted. Hopefully Jeff will have time to play with the tuning this weekend on his way to wunderwagens or whatever that show in PA is.
The new exhaust will be there the majority of the gains are. The stock 3.2 exhaust is shown to be restrictive on the 3.2. The 3.6 moves a bit more air on top of that, so we should see some pretty nice power increases with the new exhaust. I'd love to just kiss 300awhp while remaining NA.

judging by some of the #'s r36's make overseas after tuning and minor exhaust work. You could get there depepnding on how much magic Jeff makes. they like this motor a lot more overseas than they do here, and it's a shame. Well im anxious to watch this car develop, well done.

It turned out to be an insane wiring nightmare. The DSG to manual swap isn't as hard as the wiring, but its not trivial.
Hearing this car on video is like watching porn. It's just not the same as actually having sex.

The switch is a life saver.
There are a couple versions of the 3.6 floating around. Depending on which one you get you should be able to get pretty close to 300/300 awhp and awtq.
