I tried searching, not a newb, but I am to the 2L .:R world, but not to the 3.2L .:R world
(I love my Mk4 R32!).
My question is, what is the difference btwn the US intake and exhaust system compared to the
euro version? Mechanically, what were they given that we weren't that gives them a better car?
Not caring about seat or lights, just performance related parts.
Sorry if this has been beaten to death, but I can't find anything, and looking for hard evidence,
and I was told the Euro .:Rwas significantly better in performance than what we got, when a local
dealer had each one and was able to compare.
TIA, and sorry to bother.![]()

Dyno runs seem to indicate no difference at all. Looks like our R was rated lower for some VW/Audi political reason.

Stock for stock there shouldn't be any difference. However for us here in South Africa and in Australia we got a slightly detuned Euro version, because of fuel and heat. So the stage I typically gives a bit more bang for buck as we are just catching up to you guys. But by Stage III and beyond and because its a bit like the wild west here we can run cat-less and very loudwe can with the right fuel make good power.
