...I realized that my kids are exceptionally well behaved.
I can't believe the antics that some parents allow their kids get away with while in public.
I'd make a list but it's a damn big one.
So, either we are lucky or we are doing something right, probably the former.
Which ever, I don't care, I appreciate it.
Anyone else had a reflective moment like this?
Edit: Oh and, Epcot has lots of beer! Thank goodness for an 11 year old that's good at memorizing maps, among other things.![]()

I won't say my kids' are both smarter but they are better behaved.
We went through a rough spell with our 8 year old but she has matured immensely.
Our son, well, that's another story.
Absolutely.
We observe our children around other kids all of the time, but it's usually the same kids.

My wife and I had the same experience as Disney.
Some of the parents look so defeated at the end of a week. They just look harried, tired, and ready to leave.

That's awesome!
We went to Disneyland a few weeks ago and we had a similar experience. Except when our little one got tired. She had a little meltdown, but we handled it and moved along with life. Even our own kids point out others being punks. We even had my parents in tow, so it was like having four kids!

Everybody says my kids are so well-behaved in public. I always say they are so not well-behaved when we're at home..

I agree with this but I even say that they are not that well behaved in public either... I think I am actually the problem as I tend to over react to what they are doing and I also expect WAAYYY too much out of my son who just turned three and it bothers me to no end that I do that but I don't know how not to...![]()

I have girls, so it's a little different, I'd suspect. My girls are usually good while they are out and about. At home, they are just comfortable. They fool around, but whatever, they aren't bothering anyone.
In public, they are expected to be polite. Once in a while they act up, but I look around the room and usually their "acting up" is still less crazy than the other kids around. I used to have to remove them from situations and they learned that was pretty damn embarrassing for them, so they've learned to not do that. It only took a few times for them to learn that lesson. We try to keep a straight face, no threats that you can't follow through with, and it usually does the trick.![]()
