Electrical question help!!!!

ok so i bought this 98 jetta vr6. when i got it the dome light, radio, trunk switch and a few other things didnt work. the windows went down and the speedometer worked. the car had alot of exposed wires in it so i patched them all up, sodered them and taped them all clean back together and all the stuff started working again. heres the thing, the speedomter lights up but thats it. also, the windows dont go down anymore and the switches for the windows dont even light up. the car locks from the inside button but not from the keyless or the key in the door, and the trunk switch stopped working. could this be a bad ground? i cant figure this thing out its driving me nuts. does anybody have just a clue about what it could be please feel free to let me know. thanks alot

holy ****... thats a list. first make a list of whats not working

*trunk switch stpped
*the car locks from the inside button but not from the keyless or the key in the door
*the switches for the windows dont even light up
*the speedomter lights up but thats it.
*the windows dont go down anymore

so comparing from what you stated some items did not work when you bought the car. to start go over these exposed wires, double check you work. even jesus had rechecks. verify that. if still no go pic one item and start with that. since i dont have my wiring infront of me i cant make suggestions.

thanks man. figured it out it was another beat wire. it all works now except the locks dont work at all now and dome light doesnt turn on anymore. so im assuming maybe its touching another wire again somewhere??

dont worry about the locks, start with the light and check after
