I had no idea there were targets available with anything besides.... a typical 'dot' or 'crosshair' target?!
(Obviously, I'm not an avid shooter... but I have been to the range a few times in college (19 years ago) and I've also shot rifles and shotguns as a kid in scout camp.)
Anyone have a link to a site that has a bunch of different targets that I could look at?![]()

The most popular are obviously zombie targets.
The funny thing is, that the kid's parents trade-marked his name like a month after he was shot (when the media storm started) so I hope this guy didn't list them as actual Treyvon Martin targets, or he'd have to pay some royalties to the parents.
The whole encounter and shooting was stupid --- but nowhere near as stupid as the media circus people turned it into - which is why I'm 100% fine with these targets. The obnoxious level of "cashing in" that happened around this idiotic event are sickening.
Might as well let both sides play ball if that's how we're doing things.

I don't see this as a huge deal. Any target with a real human's face, I do. But this is just a hoodie. Probably good practice, as I'm sure most crimes are committed by hoodie wearing folk.

From their point of view, it makes sense. If they didn't trademark the name people could (and you know they would) make money off of his name/likeness/story. This isn't the disgusting cash grab that Elbows is trying to portray it as. If they wanted money, they'd probably be all over TV but they haven't been as far as I know.
#26
Not bashing you Elbows, I agree; and am pushing it a bit farther.
An event that makes a person famous (or infamous) has marketing potential. It just does. Smart of his folks to trademark the name, sick as it sounds.
Yep, ghoulish behavior is sickening...
But entrepreneurship is where ya find it... so your last line, FTFY.

If you think the parents are wrong to trademark their son's likeness, think about the guy that made these targets. This guy is making money off what could arguably be this kid's likeness and that's less reprehensible than the parents signing papers to prevent that kind of stuff.
#28
Trust me...the parents didn't do it to "prevent" anything...![]()

Ok, so when Trayvon Martin: The Movie comes out in summer 2014 starring Jayden Smith, I still won't get the fake outrage. If it's fair game for some dude to make targets out of a dead teenager, then it's fair game for a pair of parents to sell their son's story to Spike Lee.
Stuff like this (the parents and the guy) probably gives pentax a boner because this is the beauty of the free market.

This entire story/issue is fake outrage - what's your point? We're simply saying if people are going to stupid about it...then everyone might as well get a piece of pie. Hence, I have ZERO issue with this guy putting out targets like that, which will make him some money.

People are way too serious in this country as of late....... Or maybe it is the media making it that way.
#33
'zackly right, both. The parents didn's sign off to 'prevent', but rather that since someone WILL figure out a way to make money off their son's death, fair enough to get some of it. Maybe buy him a bigger shinier headstone or something.
'Merica, F*ck Yeah!! (plizz to wiki "sarcasm").
FWIW, I have absolutely no opinion one way or t'other on the event itself. I wasn't there, didn't see it, I don't know jack about it.
It bothers me to have to say that in hopes that my commentary will be taken as 'neutral'...
