94 Jetta brake light/turn signal issues

I have a 94 Jetta, and whenever I hit my brakes my tail lights go dim. I can't use my turn signals when the brake is applied either. Also, the two turn signal lights in the dash light up when the brakes are applied. Ive had this problem periodicaly since i bought the car with 125K, but it always fixed itself after a few days...not so lucky this time. I did a bit of research and it appears its a faulty brake light switch is the cause, does that sound right? My cruise control has never worked either, which isnt a huge deal, but it looked to me like it plugged into there.

replace the bulb tray in the tail lights. That fixed the problem with my car. Mine did the same thing. Sometimes the connections can get corroded and mess with the connections. I paid 20 bucks for mine at the local junk yard.

Finally got tot the junk yard today and swapped mine out. I finally have tail lights and turn signals again! Thanks guys, you're awesome! Fellow Ohio drivers thank you too ^_^
