So I built my first system. Everything went off without a hitch. While I was buying parts, I noticed a new CPU from an amazon seller (not marketplace) for $12, when it should have been $100-120. So I clicked order and I ordered it, it then disappeared at that price, but they honored my order.

So I have this. I got it for $12 and change. What should I do with it?

I do have a 500w power supply that's never been used. So I'd need a MB, som esort of hard drivee, a case, memory....

IDK.. I've never known a poor student to order PC parts they don't want just because it is a good deal.

If you want an HTPC, maybe put it up on a local craigslist for sale ($75) or trade for older PC (dual core or high end P4/Pentium M- a pci-e gpu slot would be much preferred).
They you get to enjoy tweaking an old PC for HTPC use.

Those things can usually overclock pretty high, but they are ~kinda low end cpu's to begin with. You could always build a system with it though, or sell it. Don't sit on it though, its value will just go down over time..
