Been looking around for an exhaust...looked at borla, magnaflow, etc, and i want something with a good tone, good performance, but not so loud that it annoys the $%&# out of me. Any ideas? Thanks!

There's also billy boat exhaust which is the same thing as the exhaust for the b6 passat. I know they did one locally for about 650 and full turboback for someone for 1,000

It actually has a different part # now, the tips stuck out too far with the B6 exhaust so BB shortened it for the CC.

You could of told him your thoughts of the sound...

thanks for the input so far...thoughts on upgrading the down pipe to an APR high flow and keeping it stock from the cat back?

eh save your money. Isn't APR's downpipe around 500 bucks? I know theres a few others i've seen for considerably less.

I have the Borla cat-back and love it

BUT the cat-back is just a noisemaker on this car...doesn't do anything for performance.

If you want performance look at a downpipe instead....you'll see bigger power gains & it's usually cheaper than a cat-back (when you mate it to the stock cat-back).

I'm only sticking with Stage 1 though because I have no intentions of upgrading the clutch and it wouldn't hold up long with Stage 2....so that's why I have a cat-back, but no downpipe. To get "some" noise out of the car

I'm usually not a fan of aftermarket exhaust sounds, but I heard the AWE one at Waterfest last summer and it sounded just about right, although it's pricey I think that's the route I'd go if I decide to do an exhaust.

yeah for now i think i'll be going with the BB downpipe to start out and leave the stock cat back..maybe throw some chrome tips on it for cosmetics. Its really the high flow cat that i want to put on the thing from a performance stand point. Just ordered an APR intake, DV relocation kit, one of these nifty guys for a boost gauge:

Just getting basics done now before dropping more $$ on bigger upgrades!

i would vote on awe. imho loud exh note will not suit cc well (unless its vr6) sure its pricey but i would rather pay $150 more up front then regret decision later and be stuck with something i wouldn't like.
might check bb as well but would have to hear it in person.

same as dan im not looking for stage 2 personally due to the potential clutch issues so stg1 tune and exh are the only "go " mods i will do (for now)

The Borla is getting installed as I write this.......

I'm already GIAC chipped (via AWE), coilovers from Koni.
Tires gotta be next!!! Those OEM Conti H-rated All Seasons are killing me on the twisties!

Will give my feedback on the Borla *sound* later this afternoon!

Are you tuned or planned on getting tuned, btw??
That's the biggest power adder (for the lowest price) right there.
Yeah a downpipe alone will add SOME power, but to truly utilize it all.....you need the tune.

Which boost gauge are you going with?

Yeah im planning to be tuned...im back and forth between APR and Revo right now. Friend of mine went with revo and loves it on his GTI TSI. I just want to open the intake and exhaust up first before i do the tuning. As far as a boost gauge, im waiting on AWE's gauge with pod for the vent, but for now will just get a VDO good up to 25psi

Usually it's the tune first, and then you go from there.....but whatever works for you

Because the tune will give you the best results & you'll notice that right away (from stock).
Then add an intake....you'll see a little gain from that
Then add an exhaust/downpipe and then you'll see even more gains from that

Going backwards....you don't really get to see/feel the difference each mod made

hmm you have a point well nothing's on the car yet so might just wait till i have the chip done, then put it on progressively in that order. Thanks!
