What do you all think of the orange in a 2008 Boxster S Limited Edition?
I personally think it's original while some of my friends think it's a little douchy.
I know it's not important what other people think and I just have to like it, but I'm a little hesitant since I've always had low-key colors. Will resale be that much harder?
I can't upload pics from where I am so if someone can post up a 2008 Boxster S Limited edition it would be appreciated
Here's a link with nice pictures at the bottom:

I think it looks horrible.
They put that color on concepts and it always looks horrible.
Somebody must like that color, but not me.

Some friends of mine picked one up right before Thanksgiving last year. They'd been scouring Autotrader, etc for months looking for the "right" Boxster when the orange limited showed up. It belonged to an older gentleman in California, original owner, 30K miles 2008 with meticulous records keeping on it. It's an S, not sure if they all were or not. I think it looks AWESOME in orange and black and the sport exhaust it came with sounds really good too. I don't think the value is affected that much but it could be harder to resale in the future if that matters to you.

I think it's gorgeous. I saw one like that with the black Porsche script stripe along the bottom between the wheels. It just really fit, IMO.![]()

I'm torn. I think I like it, but it sort of looks like a taxi cab colour.

Love it.

I guess the S2000 is visiting and the Boxster is wifey's car.

I think the orange is awesome. The world is awash in a sea of greys, silvers, blues, whites, and blacks. Step out a little bit. It's a Porsche convertible, not a hearse, have some fun and get a real color.

If someone is buying a car, and the fact it's an awesome color hurts the resale, then obviously it is the wrong type of car. Porsches always look good in bright colors.

It's not my preference over contemporary Cobalt Blue, but I love that it's a good looking, bright color![]()

I didn't expect to like it, but I do. But the gloss black/silver lip wheel treatment? Ehhh.

You do realize in Porsche world, as a stand alone option that would probably $10K extra.
The orange edition also has some body colored interior bits which would be extra, the sport exhaust, those wheels, and a few other things. It was a pretty good value new if you liked it.

They made this is both standard Boxster and Boxster S treatment. You could get the Boxster/Caymen 18" 5-spokes in the same black/polished lip treatment (standard on base trim) or the 911 S 19" Lobsterclaws (standard on S, optional on base).
My brother was close to pulling the trigger on one (and is a huge Philadelphia Flyers fan...lol), but he got Guards Red and hasn't regretted it.

Think about how many silver or black Boxsters you see around town and get back to us
I for one, think these cars should be vibrant and white should be the only non-color allowed (so that you can put big colorful stickers on it! )

The orange looks good to me. It's the black wheels that make it a bit Halloween. Fit some some clean silver wheels and I'd bite.

I like it. Better than yet another silver Boxster. If it's the right car otherwise, I certainly wouldn't let the color stop me and it might even be a plus.
#33
for starters, ithat garage...basically every car i could want reasonably.
furthermore, i never thought i'd see a car that is somehow more obnoxious than the bright yellow s2000 sitting next to it. i guess for me it comes down to my opinion which is: if you're going to drive it like a c*ck, then you might as well blind everyone else on the road too.![]()

Orange is a difficult color to pull off on many cars. The Boxster S is one of those cars it works well on.

I love it (and the bright green, too), but then again I love obnoxiously-colored cars
If I'm ever able to afford a Porsche or Lamborghini or something like that, it's absolutely going to be in the loudest, gaudiest color imaginable.
