VW Golf 2001 2.0L Engine
I have two/three problems. One is the dipstick funnel on my car snapped and I will be getting a replacement from the dealership tomorrow but I'm wondering if this has anything to do with my next problem.
My car has been using up engine oil pretty fast. I checked this morning and my car had little to no oil so I went and bought some and filled her up. As I reinserting the dipstick back into its place I went a little bit too hard and I heard something cracked. I remove the engine hood/cap and I see that the orange pipe is cracked and busted and just non-operational. Now I don't know if the low oil is the cause of this next problem.
My check engine light came on when I was going around 70 MPH and it started blinking and it has stayed on. After I ended up putting all the oil I drove the car around and I decided to go 70+ again. Once I hit 70 my car felt like it was hiccuping/shaking and the check engine light started blinking again whenever I went 70 or over.

I'm sorry but how would I do that? I usually take it to the shop but at the moment I have little to no money and I was wondering if there is anything I could do or if I would have to take it to a mechanic.

Depending on where you live, Autozone does free scans. Except in CA.
The oil dipstick goes RIGHT into the oil pan. If some how the sump got a hold of some metal bits, you'd experience a very unhappy engine. It might behave like it's misfiring. Cause it actually might be, with parts being unable to move freely. At 70mph, you're running a pretty hot engine so the metals will expand and thus begin to rub against each other quickly, thus causing MORE friction.

My local AAMCO will do a free diagnostics check. I will pass by the local VW dealership to get the dipstick funnel and I will then go to AAMCO to get it checked out. Hopefully it's not too expensive but it's all I can do with my limited knowledge of cars.
