Situation: 80% of my car is gutted for weight saving but I still have my center console. The cigarette lighter isn't working. The fuse is not blown.

However, I realized that when I was doing the fat trimming, I removed the rear cigarette lighter / socket. Are the two on the same circuit? Do I have to reinstall a socket in the rear in order to get the front to work?

probably. I ALSO have a cigarette lighter issue with my car but its cause i uninstalled an XM radio/receiver unit from under the radio and now the cig lighter isn't popping back down all the way, doesn't really bother me too much, only sticks up 1cm and tray still closes. if anything it gives me another cm for my usb cords comin off it

The front socket is powered by Fuse 41 directly. (30+ battery power)

Don't know about the rear socket - cannot find it in wiring diagrams.

If they had the same supply it would be a parallel connection anyway, so one would not affect the other if the fuse is okay.

There would be an internal join in the harness somewhere though that you have have severed.
