cutting at the firewall and replacing from there on forwards looks like a good idea to me as the pass frame rail seems to to be compressed and not aligned

[QUOTE=fasthopper;77407190]Glad your alright, I had a '77 and the brake line ruptured inside the drivers foot well, a water leak had rotted it along with the floor, I kept trying to figure out where all the brake fluid was going when bleeding the brakes only to find a huge puddle forming on the floor.
Had this same failure with a '77 when it was about 6 years old. Lost brakes. Saved it with downshifts and e-brake. Brake line under carpet on right side rotted out. I pumped about a quart of fluid into the carpet when trying to bleed the system. Turned out there was a recall for this (that I was never notified about). They had thought that because the lines were inside the body they did not need to be stainless. The dealer installed plastic lines per the recall. Anyone that owns one of these should take a look here.
Sorry for your loss and glad you are OK. Loss of brakes is one of the scariest things I can think of.

glad to see it's being saved. how will you be bracing the joint where the frame rails are being attached? Simply just butt welding them might not be sufficient...
Interested to see how this turns out!![]()
