Do you really need witnesses when there is a lamborghini facing the wrong way and sandwiched between two cars?

Possible, but he was doing too many other things wrong. Crash was caused by going too wide and correcting while applying too much throttle. Could have saved it by a hand brake+lots of gas towards the outside, but he'd need to be a hero, and a hero wouldn't have gotten into that.

I'm still trying to figure out why he chose to accelerate at that point in his turn. WTH did he think was going to happen with the car angled that way...

But how would people know that if they don't subscribe to those threads?

That's like people crying foul if something is posted on reddit and then posted in OT.

Not really, but it's still the *right* thing to do. Nobody ever wants to get involved anymore, it's pathetic. They'll sit there and film the whole thing and put it on youtube, but they won't stop to render aid or assistance (i.e. be a witness).

On my last department, as long as the vehicles involved in any accident were drivable and we opted not to write tickets, we didn't have to write a report. In a case like this, I would have actually liked to have seen the video and I gladly would've written tickets and an accident report for that idiot. Insurance companies would also like to view that as well, not that it has anything to do with the police though...

What bothers me most is the complete lack of concern shown for those involved. Especially the Chinese driver just motoring on his way after witness that but also the other people more interested in recording than helping out. Nice world.

That "idiot" is the poor guy that was sitting at the intersection in his Grand Marquis. He's taking pictures of the accident scene, as he should. Watch again.

I love seeing videos of idiots that can't drive, but think they can. This falls in with the other idiot in the Gallardo leaving C&C, the red ZR1 that hit the 300 SRT, and those idiots drag racing thier Vettes. They get into oversteer, then freeze like the scared, pathetic little girls they really are, all while an awesome car takes them for a ride where they don't want to go.

Gallardos are ridiculously easy break loose, but also easy to recover... If you're not an idiot.

I have no comments on vid 2. Scary.

What?! Handbrake? If he pulled it mid slide he would have either spun all the way around, or nosed into the Mercury directly. Who taught you to drive?

Its as simple as throttle and countersteer. He countered, not enough, then when he saw he was in real trouble he lifted the throttle, big mistake. He should have corrected more, earlier and used the throttle to pull him out like in most AWD cars. That little bit of power that's sent to the front wheels do a lot to pull you back in line if you're someone actually capable of driving.

It's ridiculous how easy car control is if you just go and learn, whether in an empty lot or by an instructor. This guy evidently never learned anything except how to make Lambo money.

The orange Diablo driver.... UGH!!!!!!! You can smell the clutch burning through youtube on that one!!! I'm curious to know the percentage of owners that total and wreck these things compared to standard daily drivers.

for those wondering why the Chinese couple did not stop. There is another video out there of a Chinese girl that got hit by a small truck and then run over by another truck and about 18 people passed by and ignored her before some old lady finally picked her up. Chinese culture is a lot different than ours and people over there tend to wait around and watch to see what happens first before ever calling the cops or the ambulance in any situation. If your ass gets attacked by a Panda don't expect any help because they'll be placing bets on which one of your testicles gets mauled first.

Makes sense. With 2 billion people living in pretty sh**y conditions, you can't expect pansy-ass political correctness and oversensitivity.
