I've never found Dubai Duty Free to be particularly good value, although there is excellent variety and range. In terms of a camera, you are better off buying from one of the grey importers such as discount camera warehouse (there are a number of others)

It's a roughly $400 camera.. what do you expect to save buying it duty free in a country in the arse end of the world not noted for its trade in anything other than Oil, money laundering services and gold smuggling?

Back in the day you could get good deals, but in the last 10 years+ since the Ruskis have been treating Dubai like the Gold Coast the good deals have disappeared.

You may be better off buying from HK via eBay???
