Hey guys I just replaced the pads, rotors, shoes and drums on my 87 cabby. The problem Im having is it still takes the pedal real low to stop. It will stop and hold but the pedal just goes way too low. Any advise or ideas on this would be a hudge help. Thanks. And also on my throttle there is a long screw looking part that has a hook to connect it to the throttle and then it comes out to what looks like a black rubber bag is the best way I can describe it. The previous owner has disconnected this and was wondering is this a part of the brake system that could be causing my problem? Thanks again for any help you can give me.

The part at the throttle sounds like either a dash pot or cruise control servo. A dash pot was used on some cars to slow the throttle closing rate for emissions.

Did you adjust the rear drums after replacing the shoes? Poorly adjusted drums can cause a long pedal.
