Who wants climatronic? I want to trade my climatronic for the dial system. Its totally functional and the buttons don't show much wear. I can show you that its functional because its still installed.

I've looked into it and it should be possible but yes it involves swapping everything for the climate control, so the dash has to be pulled out and I believe the ac might even have to be discharged. My mechanic reassures me that it is possible and with two people it should be a one day job to swap both systems.
This is the first time I will have pulled a dash on a mk4 but I have done a couple of heater cores on mk3s before so I do know whats involved in pulling a dash out (not hard but frustrating and slow).

I should also note that I am not living in Rolla MO anymore, the car and I reside in Lake Geneva WI.

I am swapping from the manual controls to the Climatronic in July (22-24th). The Climatronic box I bought arrived broken but looks to be repairable if I had to. If you were interested we could swap boxes and control panels. I have most of a harness out of a 2000 2.0L Golf that would probably have any wiring pigtails that you would need. There is a LOT of wiring involved to swap to the Climatronic. I've never seen anyone swap the other way. I'd imagine it'd be a little simpler.
I'm doing work. (Build Thread) | VCDS Scans / Tweaks in the Waukesha / Milwaukee area for $5 or a 12-pk of Mountain Dew | MK4 Remote Window Control for $20

Also, the AC does need to be discharged and the coolant does need to be drained.

I'd do that. So do you have everything I'd need for the swap?
Yeah I thought I remembered that had to be done, luckily I want to change my coolant anyway (idk how old it is) and my a/c works but with a black car I want it to be ICE cold. Also, the AC does need to be discharged and the coolant does need to be drained.
