Ya I figured as much. Looked what I believe to be everywhere inside. I know that the ebrake is not only connected to the cluster, but also runs to the running lamps. . No idea where or what to look for at this point. I think I've exhausted options in the car so I guess I need to rip the motor harness out and start looking for problems with that . Maybe melted wires grounding something out

the cluster works ok'ish when ebrake is up, then fades away when ebrake is down. its got to be something plugged into where it shouldnt be. unfortunately, my friend ripped the whole dash out to do the vr swap so he could get to the fusebox and who knows what wires he plugged in or unplugged. i need suggestions, ANY help will be great

Did u swap the cluster harness? Or just plug in the VR cluster?

I It did it with the cluster harness that was in there , so I swapped it out from a Vr and still the same . All the grounds are good and I put in another engine harness to see if it was a ground on the frame. And it's still doing the same . So it's got to be a wire inside. I'm assuming a wire plugged in where it shouldn't be rather than a wire not plugged in. I need some pictures of the wiring on the inside. I think it's something to do with the wires plugged into or not plugged into the fusebox

have you tried jumping D8-E2? Its a simple jump wire that worked for me.

we tried that as well, still same problem. its got to be something with a ground or something that is putting power to a ground that shouldnt be . it works with ebrake up but not down.. still workin on it

I would defonaly be tripple checking the ebrake electronics. It sounds like it is either pluged in the wrong spot or is shorting out the cluster some how.

i went over it a bit, from what i can tell, the ebrake cables run under the floor mats and couple up with the heated seat wires and go to the fuse box, theres only so many wires , and i checked where they go and everything seemed ok
