I'm up to level 10 and I already think it's kind of repetitive, but I guess all the Diablo games are. It's kinda fun, if the servers would stay up

I am liking it a lot. The servers are under continuous maintenance, but that's to be expected.
Level 27 demon hunter right now.
I am also a huge Diablo 2 fanboy.![]()

i totally regret digitally downloading Starcraft 2... 3 days in, I was only at 8%.

What kind of potato did you download it on?
I downloaded SC2 in just a couple hours. I downloaded D3 a few nights ago... Went to bed, woke up in the morning, and it was done.
But anyways, it's good so far. I'm still in act 2, but I don't have any complaints other than the expected day 1 server carnage.

I played for a couple hours wore work this morning. Even after being in the beta for 8 months the first part of act 1 was still awesome and I can't wait to keep playing.
I bought the digital DL through battle.net an it took 30 minutes or so for it to finish...but I have 25/25 FiOS.

It took some people hours and hours to install the game per digital download. I also bought the digital copy and it took about an hour to install the client, and then about 15 minutes to install the actual game.

I'd forgotten about the game until friend of mine mentioned it last night, so I googled it, saw there was a digital download, bought it, started downloading over a 2.7mb/s DSL line at 10pm-ish and went to bed. I woke up at 3am or so, to check on it and there was one gig or so left and when I got up this morning at 7, it was all done.

I've played D2 since 2001 and waited for D3 since 2001. Played the D3 beta since last December. I took May 15th off work to play D3. There were server issues but I was ok with that. I've waited 10 years, I can wait a few more hours. Finally got playing around 1:20am and finally had to sleep around 6am. Played more that morning and servers went down yesterday afternoon again. Played again about 4pm until 8pm.
In all that time I got my Witch Doctor to level 18 and finished Act 1. Took 9 hours playing in an exploration-style (not rushing). It's a blast! The skills, scenery, story-line, and monsters are so much fun. Not until you get about 2/3 of the way through Act 1 do you start seeing worthwhile gear and you start getting access to some amazingly fun skills. By the end of Act 1 I was spent. I could have been happy with just that.
Played for about 30 minutes this morning before work and started Act 2... nearly died twice. I look forward to more playing tonight and more near-death experiences.![]()

I've been playing it since launch and quite like it. Brings back fond memories of D2. Demon Hunter is fun, reminds me of my old Burizon.
You can set the downloader to ignore P2P and it sometimes speeds it up. I downloaded my copy from Blizzard on Monday, it took about 4 hours.

The game should be out on iPad because all you do is click and autoattack baddies. There are many games on the Apple Appstore just like Diablo but not as slick. Hopefully the new Infinity Blade Dungeons will show Blizzard how to do a proper iPad game.
- Pot when you're health is too low.
- Collect loot, sell junk to vendor for gold
- Don't stand in yucky stuff
- Follow the arrows
It's a newbie auto-attack endless hordes of zombies. Already bored at level 10 and I've even played the beta up to level 14. The catch is you can sell loot for real money on the auction house that is the only hook, other than the stale gameplay.
If you want a rewarding challenge then playing Dark Souls or Demon Souls.

Where have you been the last 16 years? Are you just figuring out you don't like Diablo now? Because it's been that way since 1996. I don't understand why you played the beta, didn't like it, then went and bought the release. Masochist?![]()

Stupid question: I've never played but wondering is Diablo more of a single player game with online fight capacity like Starcraft or is it an online game like WoW?

I own every single Blizzard game ever made and D3 was hyped up. They gave the game away for free to people who subscribe to WOW for a year like me. I was very excited to see the game every year it was presented at Blizzcon.
The game was delayed so much and features removed such as PVP content because they don't want to delay it any further. Honestly after 6+ years of work, this is what they did in that time? It's probably the result of Activision screwing up the game design philosophy of Blizzard, they used to put out polished games with high quality content.
Since their take over, WOW has never been the same. I started playing D3 Public Beta in March and I came away unimpressed by the amount of bugs, lack of polish, and slow progression. The game would've looked and play great in 2009 or 2010 but not so great anymore in 2012. There are many Diablo clones today that look and play the same, not as great but these are games made in 1-2 yrs and I can't believe it took Blizz 6+ years to make this game.
Keep in mind the game is built on the Starcraft 2 engine so it's not a game built from the ground up.
My rating for the game is a 7.9/10
It's still a good game but Blizz could do a lot better.

We already have a thread in the VG section, but I'll bite.
I bought it the night before launch, technically a couple of hours before and downloaded it in time to play.
I haven't fully played it, but so far it is awesome. It is everything I wanted in D3. This might steer some away, but the game feels exactly like D2, but with better graphics. That is it.

Purchased D3 last night.
I'm a little scared...as a recovered game addict it's been sort of like trying to have "a beer". Had some epic toons in D2 and WoW at one time.
Running a Monk at the moment.

It's a lot less addicting than other games. It gets way too hard in the Inferno level to be enjoyable. I played a bunch and then stopped cold turkey because the game just wasn't fun. Before I sold some boots for 2mil gold, I literally couldn't 'afford' to play because my repair costs were 10-20k, and I was easily 1shotted.
