rear EV carpet pad update

Just received my .64 cent carpet for the back of my MV from ECS tuning. Looks good

Matt had asked in that thread about some other part numbers

vwparts.com under the outlet center link is also listing two mats for $9.90 each (but the descriptions aren't clear as to what they are).

P/Ns are listed are:
ZVW-178-405-Q
ZVW-178-404-Q

ZVW-178-405-Q appears to be the same as the ECS mat shown above (gray, MV).

No idea what the 404-Q is (GL/GLS? gray? beige?) A quick google shows that it's GLS with bench seat and gray...wonder if someone can verify?

I just bought the last 3 my local dealer had. When I called they said they had 2 of the 404-Q's left so they put them on hold. When I went to get them he said he also had a 405-Q so I took that one too. Good thing I did because the 405 is MV & the 404 is for a GLS with middle bench seat. Both are grey. I don't think VW made floor mats for the MV in brown but I could be wrong. I've never seen any in person or online.

I just bought the last 3 my local dealer had. When I called they said they had 2 of the 404-Q's left so they put them on hold. When I went to get them he said he also had a 405-Q so I took that one too. Good thing I did because the 405 is MV & the 404 is for a GLS with middle bench seat. Both are grey. Thanks for clarifying what the part numbers correspond to.

I doubt there would be any MV in brown because all MVs have gray interiors. Brown/tan were on GL and GLS only.

Thanks for the part #s. Ordered one from ECS. I did not get it for .64 cents but at $10 is not bad either.

Well that worked out nice. I listed those 3 mats on ebay for $125 each & just sold the last one today. $33 spent & $375 taken in. Not too shabby

Agreed, it's a great item. My old Lloyd's mat is now boxed up in the garage rafters, waiting to be used the next time there's a good chance of it getting dirty (road trips/camping).

Speaking of getting dirty....when installing a new carpet mat......(I learned the hard way).....take the time BEFORE you do your first slide of the "bed" full forward...take out some paper towels & wipe the "factory" white lith. lube or oil off the black plastic seat slider rails. If this step is not taken first....the slider rail track will be wiped clean.....by your new carpet mat & there will be two landing strips on the new carpet....http://www.TomMenzel.com
