    Hi all,

During my last weekends junkyard tour I stumbled upon an old Audi 5000 and decided to pull the warm um regulator and fuel dizzy since my plan is to go forced induction for my mk1!
I'm not sure if this one is the so much sought after WUR for turbo applications or not, so please help me identify the part!
    Here is a picture:

Also, is the fuel dizzy and air-flow meter the same as the Volvo 240 Turbo needed for turbo projects?
Here is a pic of the part that I pulled from the same car:

as long as the WUR is off a 5000 TURBO, then its the right one..

the fuel dizzy however, no, its not the same as a 240 turbo setup..

you can use a stock VW cis-lambda setup, with the 5000 turbo WUR, and make it boost capable..

its apparent that you need to read more tho.. there are DETAILED instruction guides on how to make your CIS boost friendly..

The car was pretty much taken apart by the time I go to it so I'm not sure if it was the turbo or not... From the posts that I read I found that the turbo WUR has two ports on the side so I was assuming this would be the correct one.
Anybody able to confirm this based on the pictures?

post up the part number.. that wont LIE..

there are a FEW wur's that LOOK like the right one, but there not, so its safest to just post up the p/n...

according to what i can dig up in etka

the Inline 5 10v turbo engine enginekode MC has a warmup regulator with the following patnumber:

    034 133 403 A

the partnumber you have matches the ones from the NA 5cyl

    According to this website:

    http://www.jimellisaudiparts.com/pro...35133403D.html
Which is an Audi dealer website....
The WUR will fit 5k turbo models (see green sentence at the beginning)

Also, the Bosch number on the part is: 0 438 140 094 (I believe, have to double check one more time when I get home)
Which is the turbo version according to this thread:
    http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...rd-turbo-setup
as well as several other websites stating this number.

Not to further confuse you but if you're curious...

    CPR madness

Lots of vehicles used these things. I had one on my scirocco 2l (not turbo). It was just the simple vacuum enrichment unit with altitude correction. I made it adjustable "a la" pelican parts tutorial
adjustable warm up reg. - you'll want a CIS fuel pressure guage as well.

Ok, I double checked the numbers and the Bosch number on the WUR is definitely:

    0 438 140 094

It als has the two "nipples" on the side from what I read in other posts is the best indication that it is the correct WUR.

I believe the Manufacturer (Bosch) number more than the VW# and I found this part number referenced on several websites as a Audi 5000 Turbo WUR.
    http://www.rockauto.com/dbphp/x,carc...Regulator.html

Those parts are incredibly expensive new.... $800

you have the same WUR as i have, and it IS INDEED a turbo WUR..

    SCORE FOR BOTH OF US!

funny thing is, i pulled my WUR off an 83 Coupe GT, and those never came turbo'd.. and it even calls for this part number as what it came with factory..

well, being that you pulled this OFF OF A 5000 TURBO, thats kinda the final nail in the coffin if you ask me..

    Very good!

So I got the right one. Does anybody know how I can clean that part properly? It is kind of dirty and I would like to get it nice and shiny (maybe re-paint it!). I assume sandblasting wouldn't be a good idea....
The same for the fuel dizzy, any ideas how I can get that clean and ready for painting?

yes your WUR is a turbo, it has a turbo boost port (hose) on it.

    cleaning the wur

cleaning the distributor is not recommended
you can clean the outside pretty easily

and an anemic PVR V6 engine..

would have been cool to pop the hood and see a TPI 350 in there..
