So I got the ok from my fiance to choose the song that we walk in to/get announced to at our reception. She is ok with anything including punk rock. So that we don't scare off the elderly, one of my close friends who isn't in the wedding will be playing whatever we choose acoustically.

My current feeling is K8 is Great by the Bouncing Souls... Something like this:

    So, go crazy...

Never heard of them, though I don't know how an acoustic version would sounds, heh

Whoa, good call. It helps that she's actually into Social D as well, and Cash is always classy (so whichever version people assume would be "right"). That's a hell of an idea, well done.

Well, if she's into Social D, then you only have one choice:

PIL "Rise" comes to mind if only for the "I could be wrong/I could be right" lyric as it relates to getting married

Seriously though, I've been married for almost 11 years, dig it, and would definitely do it over again if I had to with the misses - good luck!

Ha ha ha ha, that's awesome! It helps that she's Asian too. I don't know why I didn't think about this earlier!

    Well done!

EDIT: Ha, did you even listen to the song? I didn't at first. That's not Holiday in Cambodia at all ha ha ha

    Fixed.
I was a work (with no speakers), so I went by track time -- the first one being 4:37, same as the album cut. This version is shorter - probably the single mix.

    However, if Akitsa is maybe not quit right and holiday in cambodia not really a wedding song (Your head is skewered on a stake) then something more romantic could be in order;
And that i have for you; a Beatle-esque ode to your soon to be wife:

And dead easy to play on an acoustic!

I worked in a video store with a huge porn section in college. The store happened to be next to a tanning salon so there were always cute girls walking by. One day these fat old dude comes walking up to the counter with 9 or 10 porns to rent and stares at this girl walking by and says "Yeah I'm married but hey, just 'cause you're on a diet don't mean you can't look at the menu!"

I immediately wanted to punch him in the face and call him a loser...

I guess that last comment makes me that guy... Fail...

Make sure your friend knows Sonic Reducer in case the bride backs out at the last minute.

Baby I Love You by the Ramones should work good acoustically with or without singing. Though not a punk song , who cares, it's by the Ramones.

I thought about that Ramones song actually, but I'm thinking I want something a little faster. Good idea though

The second "You may kiss the bride" was anounced at our wedding, "Time for Heroes" by The Libertines started, loud. The lyrics don't really make sense, but it works.

MxPx - Do Your Feet Hurt
I've got a bunch of high end vintage audio gear I'm clearing out, restored Marantz 4270 - better than new condition; Pioneer SX-5590, 8/10; Concept 16.5, 8/10 cosmetically - 10/10 function. Various high end vintage speakers: Rectilinear Research, AR, Kenwood, Infinity, McIntosh, Leslie 251. PM me for details, clearing out to finance home theater upgrade.
