So Ill be heading to germany for a week for some business and I was wondering what kinda things could I get there that I could get and bring back with me that would make it worth my time?

I was thinking of getting the euro tail light, euro cup holder and maby a GTD badge. Id love to get the Euro hid/led lights there too but what else should I look out for while im there?

    BEER!

I tend to look for things like a dealer badge for the back of the car. Obscure things you would only see on a car in Europe.

I wonder if OEM parts are any less expensive in Germany versus purchasing locally?

Obviously you won't be able to return with items that are too large in size, but, pending money was no issue, I'd get a Westfalia hitch and OEM headlights with Projector HID's and LED's, along with a Euro Headlight Switch and Rear Fog tailight... and whatever else gets me as an impulse buy!

ooh... you'll love the gearing that the euro version has

fyi.. only the driver's side taillight is different in europe (and the only difference is the lens for the rear fog). And, prices at German dealers are roughly the same as in the US.. or more expensive.

Where in Germany are you headed? I did a tour about 15 years ago that went Frankfurt-Heidelberg-Stuttgart-Munich, then crossed into Austria and went to Vienna and Salzburg. It was pretty awesome.

Makes sense that you can get most of the same stuff here. The JSW is built exclusively in Puebla, so many of the accessories are probably supplied out of there or from other North American suppliers as well.

Yes, but sometimes certain items are "for export only" and thus not easy to find on the local market... probably easiest to get on a german dealer

ill be going to the VW dealer tomorrow, Its funny how common Station wagons are here. BTW the new passat wagon and the all road look absolutely awesome on the road.

my rental car ended up being a 2012 golf variant comfort line with 6 speed 1.6l TDI with 4 motion. Kinda different to drive but I like the AWD alot on this car.
