Unless you want the steelbook case, first dlc and a few ok "VIP" cars I'd say save your money, or buy the regular edition when it gets down to $20 or $30.
I like the game quite a lot, but it's pretty short and the online racing is usually even more of a smash up derby than FM4 can be.
I agree with your comments, however I am enjoying the dlc and enjoying playing the game again. I've played more in the last two nights than I have since I bought the game in October. It's nice to have something to do in the cars other than just race the races. I like the point to point timed challenges the most.
The muffled cabin noise of the CTR2 hurts my ears.

I am with Wolf, I think the new DLC has really brought a lot back to the game; I had not played since November when I completed pretty much everything (970/1000) but yet this week I am putting in a couple hours a day working on the medal challenges (closing in on 200 so far). Get a new car, do a few mods, paint and do the 5 or 6 challenges and move on to the next, and I think it is pretty fun.
I will probably pick up the November car pack as that is the key to getting most of the achievements with the DLC, but I am fine with the 400msp for the complete pack essentially and the full 250 achievements.
I think if you could get the game in the $20 range it is a fun pickup, not sure the collectors edition is really worth it, seems the VIPs did not get much at all this time, more for the season pass purchasers.

"Artificial Intelligence usually beats natural stupidity." <---- If we apply that logic to driverless cars, the future of commuting should be just fine.
