My main concern is, will the DLC I've spent so much on for Forza 4 be included on the disc this time? I've spent a ton on F4 downloadable content, and it irks me that it won't be usable in this game.

Well, in that respect it is two different games. Did it irk you to spend money on DLC for FM4 when you spent it (hypothetically) on DLC for FM3?

And as others have said, no Porsche for Horizon at least to begin with. EA still holds the license, and since the new 911 is featured in the new Need for Speed, they're probably hoping that the exclusivity of it will drive sales.

I hope, once these games have been out for awhile, EA will release a sub-license to enable an expansion much like FM4. That is, if the $$ makes sense. I've heard the FM4 Porsche expansion didn't sell well, at which point it may not be worth it for Playground/T10 to fork over the money for a sub-license.

I don't like it, but I understand these decisions from a business standpoint.

Also, here are some new screen shots, and a new video with DLC info. Car packs every month starting on Day 1, and also expansion packs starting on Dec 18th.

I don't know why you think like this...

Forza 4 and Forza Horizon are two DIFFERENT game. DLCs for Forza 4 will have nothing to do with Horizon. And i am sure there will be DLC for Horizon in the future.

Think of them like Battlefield 2/3 and Battlefield Bad Company.

No, it didn't, but Forza 3 and 4 didn't come out within a year of each other. And Forza 3 didn't have DLC coming out so often that it was worth as much as the game itself. The $20 for the Porsche pack was just insulting. I just hate being nickel and dimed to death over the cost of DLC.

They need some kind of LCE that includes all future DLC for the title. I'd pay something for that.
As it is, we pay $80 for the LCE, what, $200 on DLC? Then they come out with a disc a year later for $30 that includes all of it.
If that's not insulting, I don't know what is.
Also, cars bought with "tokens" (real money) or in the AH need to be sellable in-game. This 100cr stuff is BS.
While we're at it, how hard would it be to script a "press "B" to remove locked setup/livery" option when you go to sell a car,
or to have the game place you in the first car in your garage if you sell/auction/gift/whatever the car you're in?
The way it is, you have to get in, go unlock the livery, go unlock the tuning, get out, go find it again in your list, then sell/auction/whatever.
    What a pain.
Do these guys not really play the game? This is day-to-day stuff that would have been easily fixed in FM1.
Love the graphics and driving physics of this game, but the rest of it really wears on me sometimes.

I don't think it is insulting. It is like EVERYTHING. If you want the latest thing on the first day (early), you are going to pay for it. Developer/publisher usually release "Game of the year" or Platinum edition when the game is already past their prime.

If you are willing to adjust your game purchase timing by a year or 2 after initial release, you will save ALOT!! I already do these for all my games. Most of the PC games I bought from Steam are usually under $20. And I almost only buy "Game of the year" or Platinum edition for Xbox360. (except Forza series) The last xbox game i bought is Red Dead Redemption GotY for $19.99 around 3 months ago

You guys can complain about the price all day long. Never has the saying "You gotta pay to play." been more relevant.

You have a choice, no one is forcing you to buy the game or the DLC on day one. You can wait till the "F-you" edition comes out for $30. Is that fair? Yes, yes it is.

The only time I ever felt mildly upset by a game of the year pack was when the Forza 3 Ultimate Collection came out and it had a few cars that you could ONLY get by buying that edition. I had happily purchased and enjoyed all previous DLC, but knowing I'd have to spend an additional $30 to get 3 cars rubbed me wrong.

I've adjusted my buying habits knowing this kind of thing happens though, it's the new reality for gaming. There are certain franchises I'll want to play day 1 and will buy them and the dlc, but for games like Fallout 3, Red Dead Redemption, Dirt 3, Batman Arkham City and eventually Skyrim (and Dragon's Dogma if it ever happens), I just wait for the GOTY edition to come out for $20-30 and enjoy the game and the savings then.

I don't want to just complain here, but I understand the frustration with spending lots of money all over again on horizon. So far, I can't get excited for this game because every single car, save the jag eagle 1, is just a carry over from the game that we are all already playing. The whole "release a car a day" ad campaign falls flat for me because and just makes it feel like they are trying to rehash old news into new. If the new game is only going to have a limited selection of cars that are in forza, that is a big bummer to me. If the new game is goings have all the cars from forza and more, get busy telling us what the "more" is.

Like I said, I don't just want to complain. The game looks like it will be fun, but I don't think they are doing a good job of focusing on why we should spend new money for a new game if it is only a variation on what we already have. To be fair, I felt this way to a certain degree about switching from forza 3 to 4. They did a better job that time though of just talking about the new features. The pitch I remember is, "all the cars you know and love from forza 3 plus new tracks, new cars, improved physics, Pirelli helping refine tire characteristics, rivals, more cars in online reaches, etc.". The pitching am hearing for fh is," all of Hesse awesome cars that are already in the game that you are already playing, but you can drive them in an open world environment or do some kind of race series that we aren't really explaining. As you can drive around and search for cars that you can already drive without having to hunt them down if you already own forza 4. Plus you get cool points for hitting signs and stuff"

I am just not sold. But I am glad that so many people do like it. Hopefully it will help better accommodate people that want to race online in track settings vs people that want to tool around on back roads and hoon to their hearts are content.

I don't buy these games to play against the computer all by myself, I buy to play with friends, share tunes and liveries, etc.
That doesn't work when everyone's on to the next title.

And yeah, selling a game you've asked others to dump nearly $300 into for $30 is insulting.
It would be different if there were no community to it and it was just a matter of "wanting the latest thing".
But when it's a matter of wanting to play "with other people" (some of us actually have friends?), it makes all the difference in the world.

Both of these points are wrong, I'm afraid to say. There are several cars shown to be in FH that were not in FM4, not just the Eagle. Yes, many have similar cars in FM4, but they are not the same model or year.

    Audi 2012 R8 GT Spyder
    Bentley 2012 Continental GT
    2009 Corvette ZR1 Convertable
    Citroen DS3
    Dodge Viper ACR-X
    Ferrari 2013 458 Spider
    Ford 2010 Focus RS500
    2013 Shelby GT500
    Gumpert 2012 apollo sport
    Infiniti 2013 G37 IPL Coupe
    Jeep 2013 Grand Cherokee SRT8
Land Rover 2012 Range Rover Supercharged
    Mercedes-Benz 2012 S 65 AMG
    Nissan 2012 GTR

Also, they have NEVER said that ALL of the cars from FM4 would be in FH. In fact they have said that there will be none of the sponsored race cars from FM4 in FH.

I stand corrected on the new cars. I didn't mean to say that they have said that all of the cars from FM4 are in the game. Just that watching the photos showing up on the facebook feed and that folks are posting in here make me think that they are trying to make old news feel like new. I really am not trying to convince anybody to not buy the game. I guess all I am saying is that it doesn't appeal to me at full price. I will most likely pick this up a year or 2 down the line when it is cheap.

On the positive side, I bet people will be able to take really cool photos in this game compared to FM4. With the open world environment, the background options are virtually limitless.

And the second "Behind the Scenes" video

Some interesting and saddening bits of info released: No dirt/dust accumulation on the cars if you go off road. And no converting of convertables. (i.e. if the top is up, you cannot put it down, and vice-versa)

This is seriously making me think of dropping $200 on an XBOX in the near future. It looks great.

With this game engine, I am dreaming that there will be DLC like "Tail of the Dragon", "Stelvio Pass", "San Juan Skyway", "Transfagarasan Highway", "Col de Turini".... :drooling:

That would be giving T10/PG too much benefit of the doubt. The DLC will probably be car packs, and "expansion" packs consisting of events. Think "Race from point C to D instead of point A to B" and crap like that.

I would be surprised if any DLC included new environments.

it will be a magic land of no cops, haha. I assume that multi player lobbies will adopt a form of cops and robbers game though, if you're into that sort of thing.

4000msp for the Seasons Pass is a bit ridiculous if I'm being honest. It seems T10 is in position to teach EA some things about milking the community... That December Expansion better be a map expansion.

Here's the last batch of announcements. Glad to the new M6 made it in.

Where's my 60th Anniversary 'Vette convertible folks?

$50?! It's official, I won't be buying this title when it's first released.
Might be fun to pick up MUCH later, when $300 of crap is released for $30, but not before.

I agree. Ive spent too much on FM4 already. I have plenty of work left in the game. I havent seen anything that makes me feel Ill get the replayability that FM4 has. Im on my 3rd copy of the game.
I wont be tempted by new cars that arent in FM4. I dont want to repaint them all over again either. The point A to point B racing dosent keep my interest in past experiance. The car culture they are trying to recreate is the side I dont even like. Im sure it will be chock full of dubstep while driving like a manic in traffic, trying to get to a rave.

Hopefully there will be "horizon" DLC for FM4 with the new cars.

The monthly ones are. There might be at least one more, from what the DEVs were hinting at when I played with them.

I sure hope so, FM4 needs more tracks. I think we're good on cars though, so that's nice.

I agree, I'm getting tired of the same old rotation every time I go back to work on the event list. I'd like some Brands Hatch, Lime Rock, VIR, SPA, Monaco, some city tracks and why not toss in Circuit of the Americas since it's under construction currently (which I'm attending the inaugural F1 race at this November yay!).

Newest reveals, they're pumping out more and more each day now...

Not sure if any of you have been watching the VVV reviews of Horizon, but they posted one on their Facebook page (music recorded with the video, so it's not on YouTube)

The latest one he reviewed it with all assists off, and because of his racing game history I believe what he says over any other review talking about "sim" or "arcade" handling. VVV says it's the same old Forza handling, only differences is that the cars feel lighter because of quicker turn in and the brakes lock up rather quickly when running with ABS off.

Also if you haven't heard, manual with clutch is in.

Video is on the VVV facebook page, I can't link to it directly.

It looks like a fun game regardless. The only thing I'm having an issue with is the DLC.

I will probably wait on all DLC until late November when the details of the Expansion Pack are released. If it's worth it to me then, I'll buy up the season pass. The SP price is stupid expensive if you're just looking at the 6 car packs (6 cars each) and little else, but if the expansion adds on more real estate or substantial gameplay, my interest would be piqued.

Its just more of the same old ****. FM4 didn't have much appeal i think i have 10 hrs into it total and i was just as bored as i was with FM3. I'm passing on buying this one. If its in Red Box i'll grab it for a night just to check it out.

I've already got the game preordered and wasn't intending on downloading the demo when it comes out Oct 9, but I like free stuff.

Those who download the demo and purchase Forza Horizon will be granted a specially designed custom 2013 SRT Viper GTS. The car design is meant to highlight the game's “gone-gold” status and will only be available to those that play the demo and the full game.

    [EDIT] Others from today:
