I posted this in the MKIV forum too but was looking for this section to post in initially, sorry

Can anyone tell me which gear is which, there are no part number markings on any of the gears and I can't rule it out by the car it came on because I don't know much about either transmissions history

At the least can someone say which one will have a higher engine speed than the other. One has to be a diesel gear but there's so many 'ratios' available it's a lot to look into when I don't know much about what's in front of me. Both gears have the same diameter but one has more teeth than the other. I guess what I could do is count each sets' teeth and figure out the ratio of each that way.
