Is anybody interested in getting this? I am going to order it from china. It's $40 plus whatever the shipping turns out to be.

There was a guy over on Passatworld who was selling these for $12, not sure if he has anymore. Here is the thread:

Edit: I see that yours is the entire bottom grill, his is just the chrome strip.

I might be into that. Send over details.
How much is it for that front grille too?

I like that idea of just adding the chrome trim piece like the guy on passat world I been wondering about that for a while since it looks so bare down there.
The new grill from china does have different pattern to it. Horizontal grills instead of honeycomb. So it by itself may not look right unless swapping the fog light grills too. I am currently looking for those too. All I've found out about the lower grill is its $40. Not sure about the fog light grills. As for the upper grill I like the way it looks too with the split bars. IDK if I can find it but will look.
I am also going to look in to the chrome molding strip too. If I can find it that will be the way I will go. Since it will be cheaper and easier.

it definitely adds some definition to the lower bumper area, I wish they just hurry and release the oem lip spoiler though.![]()

Most likely it wont fit as the chinese passats bumper is different...
How do I know?
I bought the upper grill and it doesn't mount on our cars, all the tabs are different.

Well I'm glad I didn't go that route. Thanks though. The peel and stick trim is diffinatly the way to go if your going of this look.

Thanks for the heads up. I wonder if the bumper is different to support front parking sensors?...
I too went the lazy route and bought the $12 kit from the same guy. I have an irrational fear of cheap mods backfiring on me in obvious, publicly embarrassing ways, and this will be the first one I introduce to "blue Betty ".. Hopefully it lasts for a while.

I did this mod but I used 1/2" chrome. I made sure to clean off the area and I put adhesion promoter and then applied this. This was my second attempt, still not perfect but it looks great.

Hmmm, both look good, I think I like the 1/4" better, a little bit subtle. Although the 1/2" does match the rest of the trim better. Glad we have folks willing to experiment so we can see the options available.. Thanks

Just before going into Advance Auto Parts I measured all the chrome trim on the car and everywhere it's 1/2" I understand why 1/4" works better on the lower bumper grill. I walked into Advance auto and picked up both 1/4" and 1/2". When I went home prior to cutting anything I had my wife tell me what she thought and 1/2" just looked more OEM. I love 3M stick tape it makes anything stay stuck. Also in the $16 roll there was enough to do this mod 3 or more times :-)
Prior to this mod I was thinking about blacking out certain spots of the grill or other places but there is just too much chrome, so what is a little more![]()
