Always felt this was one of the worst offenders due to the AWD friendly height.

I think the stock height on my '95 Jetta GLX qualified.

Nissan's are the worst about this!!

You could lower an s13 240sx 4 inches and still have a little wheel gap!

BMW for example makes sure that wheel gappage is minimal (makes the car look more expensive). So you would expect at least Toyota would put effort in minimizing gappage on a car that would cost $30k instead they built it cheaply and put in a sub $20k gappage on the car..totally unacceptable. Another among plenty of factors why the scion/brz is totally overpriced.

My Mustang was pretty damn tall in the rear when I got it, too:

The Viper GTS had a low ride height, but huge wheel gap.

For some reason my 11' GTI is lower than other stock GTIs.. I have stopped counting the number people asking me if I lowered my car. I've even had people straight up tell me that I'm lying.

I'm assuming mkVI GTI's are still like mkV's, where USA gets a taller suspension setup. If so, it appears that you might have Euro spec springs? You look pretty close to this:

That is not stock ride height.

^ My old 2011 GTI stock.

Did you have a DSG? I wonder if they accidently put Euro springs, or 2 door 6MT springs on it.

I just like stock height they put on all MkVIs in general. When I park my MkV GTI next to my wife's MkVI Golf TDI, it's a very noticeable difference.

Even with the stock body kit, the Carolla S looked like it had a monster truck suspension.

E30 front wheel gap... unless you use coilovers, there is NO WAY you could stance that car our RIGHT. wish I had a picture.

      High rideheight is high....

With the 245/40/17s the tire is actually shorter than stock, so even more wheel gap....

May or may not do anything about it, depends on whether I want to do a wholesale suspension mod or not...
