Thread: Electrical Issue - Horn sounds different, Headlight Chime does not ding, Rear Driver Side Door Lock not working

  1. 05-18-2012 12:50 PM #1
So all about the same time as far as I can tell, some electrical type issues cropped up.

    This Always happens
    • The Horn is now making a lower pitch wimpy sound

These Next two, when they happen, seem to happen at the same time:
    • The 'Hey you left your Lights' on Chime does not always Ding
    • The Drivers Side Rear passenger Door Lock does not lock/unlock

Since they happen intermittently it would not seem like a fuse issue, more like a relay or loose connector?

Any Suggestions on where to start looking?

    Thanks!

Regarding the horn problem, I had the same thing on my 2002 wagon. There are two separate horns - a low tone horn and a high tone horn. Sounds like your low tone horn may have failed.

A replacement horn costs about $50 and is fairly easy to replace. They are located behind the passenger fog light assembly. It is relatively simple to remove the lower grill piece, the fog light assembly, and then the horn.

Of course check the fuse and relay first.
