well my prom is today, and i asked my neighbor if i could rent his ferrari 308 gts, and all he asked is if i could drive stick, and he just let me borrow it for this whole weekend. this is my first time driving a ferrari and i just got done cruising around in it for the past 3.5 hours, and it is a blast! such a fun day so far.

i also took my grandpa out for a spin in it, and he acted like a old man speed limit is 25, come to a complete stop at a stop sign

Well, that pretty much tears it.

There is no way that graduation prom night was even in the same ball park (or planet for that matter)back in the day (1966)

    WOW!

See, it's a coin toss here for me. When I was a teenager this would have made my prom. Now that I'm older and have a son of my own, I'd be hesitant in trusting a teenager with my pride and joy and anything with horsepower.

I'm sure you're responsible and will take care of it and be fine, but that neighbor would feel pretty awful if you crashed in that car and he enabled it.

    Have fun and be safe.

don't make him regret renting you his Ferrari.

Not to worry then: a 308 doesn't have much in the way of horsepower.

I'd be reluctant to trust any stranger, much less a youngster, with a Ferrari-priced clutch or gearbox or valvetrain though. Very cool neighbor.

I took a limo to prom, as did pretty much everybody.
Then again we can drink up here around that time, so driving was a no go.

That is absolutely incredible. If the date doesn't like it because it's "just and old car", you need to leave her at the prom and just go driving that thing. Jeez that's incredible.
