Anyone? I didn't think the temp sensor was that heavily involved in the trans shifting operation and would cause flares.

Hi everyone, I've been reading around trying to figure out what could be the issue with my 2003 gti w/ 09a. I've been reading it could be solenoids or it could be the temp sensor. Is there any consensus on what is what? I scanned the car today as it has been getting worse lately, shift flares in almost every gear and having to lift in between the car shifting. Does the temp sensor fix it? Or is it solenoids? or a combination of the two? The car currently has 55k on it and has never had a flush. Thanks for any help.

temp sensor is not heavily involved and is probably not causing the problem.
usually the code is caused by the engine temp sensor or the car not warming up properly.
Auto trans fluid change or flush will not make a trans fail. Stop spreading the wives tale/urban myth.

Thanks for the feedback, at this point since its not throwing any other codes what are the options? Complete solenoid change and a flush?

Right, that's where I'm at now, what can I test/measure at this point to get a more concrete answer? The temp sensor seems like a possibility since it only occurs when the car is warm but, really I don't know where to go with further diagnosis.

there is a way that seemeth right to a man... but thats not it.
The code means that the comparison between the trans sensor and the engine sensor is showing a difference.
The 300 trans code has very little influence on the behaviour of the trans. Your actual problem could be solenoids sticking but its difficult to impossible to pinpoint. It doesn't really matter though... with those transmissions its basically change the solenoids or change the trans.
Point being.. try the solenoids.. if that doens't fix it then your probably looking at a trans.
