Putting in the bags on my mk4 and got to the front and it doesnt seem right. I bought the bags used but had to buy new top hats for them so they didnt come already put together like they would new from airlift. When the strut is in and that top bolt tightened (with the top hat bolted to the strut tower) should the strut still be able to move up and down slightly, and then also if I remove that center bolt the strut just falls down off the top hat? Seems like there should be a larger washer or spacer there so nothing moves. The goldish washer with the rubber, even when tightened doesnt touch the strut, except maybe when the car is set down off the jack (not sure didnt want to put it down till we were sure). In the instructions it looks like there is a gap there but i didnt get to call airlift or bag riders friday and im hoping to finish getting everything in tomorrow so im hoping someone understands what im trying to say. Thanks in advance

*The second pic doesnt have the goldish washer with the rubber on but with that in there is that fully put together?*

Think you are missing the retaining clip. Can't tell from the pictures though. Just follow my DIY

That's exactly what I was looking for and helped, I have all the pieces and got them in thanks. That didn't should up for me when I was searching on my phone the other night.

Another question though, my Firestone rears allow me to go plenty low but the shocks are holding me up. I have one Billstein and one koni yellow in the rear (had one koni yellow blown) From what I've read those are the best shocks it seems, so could I just trim that foam like stuff off the tops of the shocks that are the brownish-red color. I was thinking cutting 2 of the 3 bubbles off

Those are the bumpstops. Just ditch them completely.
