My husband and I were doing some work on my MKV. We ordered parts from ECS tuning using my debit card. My card got hacked and I am still waiting for a new card. To finish paying for my order which became significantly delayed by the complications and back order issues on my door lock module (no surprise, seems to be a very common failure) I had to us my husbands debt card which I gave the information over the phone to a rep because I was leary to do it online. Two days later his card was hacked. Between the two cards $1200 was attempted to be spent on various online sights. I called ECS to report it, they supposedly brought in a tech guy after I called to up their security. However my husband and I have been posting on the B6 forum and even after they upped their security their are consistant posting of faud activity on any purchases on ECS. We also are talking to a guy in their fraud department To my understanding this has been a common issue for a long time. Please post about any fraud activity you may have had, they are looking at the posts and contacting people to gather information for the feds. Also take a look at the posts on the B6 forum, some of the stories are fairly interesting, just a heads up and what happened to ECS.

When I was in the desert in 2010 I ordered parts when i had internet connection and my card got hack/stolen id or whatever you want to call it i figured it was because of the internet setup I used so maybe not then.

this has been going on for a few years with ecs (i dont think its an internal thing but sometimes im not sure as it seems to happen far too often)

i think its just a security thing the hackers usually have the better equipment and the business usually has to play catch up

i had my debit car hacked 2 years ago after using it at a very reputable online store and later had my emergency credit card hacked after i used it to buy new wheels

thankfully credit card companies have great fraud departments i got a call within minutes of one of the charges and identified 4 fraud charges on my account

They are investigating an internal source due to one of the replies on the B6 post and because I gave my husbands card over the phone. Hopefully this isue will be resolved. I by no means am pointing fingers, Hackers are amazing at what they do but just so everyone knows be careful. We have gotten a new reply on the B6 forum everyday since the post went up of a new card being hacked just after ordering parts. I would suggest the pay pal option if you plan to use ECS in the near future, at least until the issue is resolved. I am truly sorry to all those who have had their cards hacked, its a great deal of stress and hassel especially if your fraud agency does not catch it in time as mine and my husbands were able to. I would have been irrate to pay the $1200.

you aint a kiddin great pain if the info is stolen when it happened to me I wasn't able to do anything i was ordering parts to put on the car after i came home from my deployment they maxed my discover card out but thankfully discover is 100% fraud protected i just proved i never ordered them and they refunded the balance and gave me a new card.

well then...i know where mine got hacked too then lmao.

i got a call from Visa last week saying they think my card was compromised as well cause someone tried spending $1900 on various online sites as well. didnt know if it was from ECS or my 407 ETR bill (toll highway here in ontario)

but seeing as you're saying it happens with ECS i figure thats where mine went worng too

i ordered an R32 bumper from them at the end of april and it came just this past tuesday. well the day before that my bank called me and said $206 was taken out to buy itunes . i didnt think anything about it being from ecs but since this was brought to my attention ecs put my order on hold after they took the money out of my account they claimed they had an issue with the payment. so now it all makes sense. ECS needs to step up their security big time!

This just happened to me but it has been about a month or two since I used my card to purchase something on ECS can't really blame it on them but it's possible based on what everyone else is saying.

    Wow.

I'm not a fan of ECS, but even so I hate to see stuff like this happen.

I have seen the effects of stolen credit cards, identities, and the like.

Hope they get it fixed before there are any more victims.

I am not saying everyone's card is hacked by ECS but I do appreciate the comments. Hopefully those of you who suspect fraud after a recent ECS purchase not using PayPal will have someone contact you but I'm not sure exactly if they will or not. I'm sorry to all of you but I don't want anyone to stop using them or to blame them and give them a bad name I just suggest that you use PayPal and if you do suspect fraud contact them and give them the dates and where the money was used at. The more information the better because it's a good company and I'd hate for this issue to become something that causes them to many problems so every little bit can help them find the cause and fix the problem.

It isn't ECS. There have been reports of the CC card processors being hacked. My wife and I have had multiple cards with funky charges. Mostly our Chase/Wells Fargo cards which seem to get bogus charges. I don't really care, they remove them and send a new card. When a retailer processes a card, the card doesn't communicate directly to the said bank. They use a process company that then may have to go through one or more for the bank. It could be a compromise at the processor for ECS, or for an approval processor for a bank. To accuse ECS for it could lead to a slander charge.

We had our Chase and Wells Cards replaced all in a 30 day period. None of the cards were used at ECS. The last time I used ECS, I had a problem and had to change a car on the phone iirc. Not a single problem.

When a card processor gets compromised, your card doesn't immediately reflect it. Your data may be sold or they sit on it until they get a chance to use it. Google and the news can be your friend sometimes.

I would just be really surprised if that wasn't under control by now, or if ECS didn't use a reputable processing company. A breech is usually immediately detectable once the processing company starts receiving mass amounts of charge backs.

    People need new hobbies.

I try to use paypal whenever possible.

I also have a bank card for online purchases only with nothing in it until I'm ready to make the purchase. This card was established after my account was hacked.

I use pay pal only online if there is no option for it I go elsewhere.

Also yesterday I saw this thread and thought that someone from there would comment on this yesterday since there so fast at trying to sell stuff.

But I have never had a problem with them actually I have a brake master cylinder on the way for my mark 2 from them right now.

I've had my card hacked 4 times now. I've learned to only use credit cards online (not debit cards) because getting your number stolen is inevitable if you're buying things online a lot. At least if it does get stolen it's not your money on the credit card and it's usually easier and faster for the card company to reimburse the money.

It's not with ECS Tuning. It's with the card transaction company. A very large card transaction company has been hacked recently that VISA, Mastercard, and others use.. So don't blame it on ECS, it's not their fault.
