I was surprised there wasn't a thread for this already.

    Anyone pick this up?

Reviews seem ok, nothing ground breaking, but then what is?

The first Prototype looked very buggy/unfinished in the game videos I watched, so I never even bothered trying it.
Is Prototype 2 a much better package?

I just finished Prototype 2 and also played the first one. I never had any bug issues with the first one and the second one feels a bit more polished (graphics are better, etc.). The only other game I can really compare it to is the Crackdown series which I also liked. It's a nice sandbox style game where you can do superhuman stuff, jack tanks, helicopters, etc. They added a few more things you can do in this one (like being able to weaponize stuff from tanks and helicopters).

I've enjoyed the series and this one was no exceptions. No overly compelling storyline, just run around blowing stuff up, throwing cars around, etc. Just mindless fun - it gets repetitive, but what games don't anymore?

The first one reeeeeeally reminded me of the PS game Infamous and they were released pretty close together as well. Run around on missions, power up, kick ass. I did enjoy playing it though. I'll pick up Prototype 2 eventually.

Does P2 have any MP? I think Infamous 2 has a mission editor iirc?

No multiplayer, just single - there was a bunch of debate over this and I know many people were upset. I'm not really sure how a multiplayer component would've worked for this kind of game anyway - two super powered people bouncing all over a city ala Halo throwing cars at each other? I guess it could have worked. Co-op would be pretty unfair since you would both be so powerful that, even on a high difficulty setting, the game would be a cakewalk.
