2000 VW Cabrio Top & Windows not working

My drivers side window quit working about a week ago. I thought it was the regulator and was going to order one this week. Today when I was going to the beach, the top went up really slow then when I was leaving it wouldn't go back down. Now, my passenger side window won't go back up.
Add that some douchebag broke into my car today at the beach, its not my day.

Are there any known fixes, recalls etc? I'm getting a lot of different information from different sites and this seems to be the most recent... Any help would be appreciated. I certainly don't want to take it to a dealer. I just bought the car a couple months ago too...

check hydraulic fluid in boot for the soft top mine had similar problem and only needed refilling and clear air bubble in pipes, windows sounds like fuses but im no mechanic im afraid
