Whatever brand inner and outer tie rods they keep selling me at BAP Geon are not holding up for more than a season.

Should I try OE Volkswagen from the dealership or is there a better aftermarket tie rod set-up?

    Thank you!

Hmm... considering I have 283K+ miles on my original ends and last I checked (couple K ago) they were fine... OE?

Oh thank god! Alignments are getting expensive!
    Thanks Ian.

To be honest, I'm more curious as to why they're wearing out so fast. The ~284K on my car haven't all been particularly easy ones. I know lowering a Mk IV changes the tie-rod angles, but I hadn't heard of the stresses being that severe.

Autocrossing on 45 psi 225/45/17's can't help either. Ha! Albany/Schenectady roads also.

I'm not lowered aggressively but I've got 200+ on my replacement oem tie rods and no wear to speak of when I put in my coilovers in

Can't hurt to go OE if they replacements aren't lasting

I've run everything from 225/45/17 to 245/45/16 and never had a real problem

Just picked up some OE Volkswagen tie rods yesterday.
I hope to get at least 2 damn years out of them!
    Thanks everybody!

Ok so I finally got around to swapping tie rods. Look at the size of the ball on the Moog brand (L) next to the VW (R).
Turns out I've also got a bad ball joint.
    Never ending! Ha!
