Has anyone had any issues with connecting the bracket to the battery box on the APR CAI? I installed mine yesterday and the bracket is to big. The bracket is hitting the battery box along with the hole not lining up correctly. It almost seems the issue is with the ram air bracket and the extra space that gives. Has anyone had this issue?

I was just gonna say that nothing from the Carbonio intake attaches to the battery box.

BUT they just added a bracket.....INTERESTING!!

So that is something new....never had any experience with that, sorry.

But just wiggle it around & I'm sure you can get it to line up.
In the instructions, it says to leave it loose too (to line everything up first)

I actually called them and they have not heard of that one but would like a picture. I will try it being loose but also I might try to push a little on the entire housing because you see some of the hole so it is mm off. I really think its the extra small distance with the ram air bracket.

I also saw two different sets of instructions one with the bracket and one without. Dan are you saying when you had yours on it was connected just to the front and not the battery box?

If I cannot get it on I am going to maybe file down the bracket a little.

My bracket doesnt attach to the battery case at all either. Im curious to see if there is a reason why they changed...

Yeah that intake has been out for 3 years now, and they just recently added the bracket to the intake kit.

Some people were having issues with the front brackets cracking (that support the intake to the front grille).
Other issues were with the Stage 2 pipe connecting to it and the intake "sagging" and then resting on the brake reservoir & leading to vibrations thru the brake pedal
Also people were complaining about the lack of support for the intake....so this takes care of all those issues

You could run it without the bracket if you had to (like they used to sell it for 3 years before) and how I always had mine.

See above....there were a couple issues.

On golfmk6, a guy designed & sells a bracket to hold it up better (modshack).
Guess APR figured they should step up & make the customer's happy (even though they're still bitching about this new "flimsy" bracket on golfmk6)

    Thanks Dan,

just an update tried to even have it on lose an it is just off. We even tried to push the entire housing a little and it does not budge. My buddy loves stuff like this so he is going to mod the bracket. APR wanted me to take a picture but did not have a camera handy so I will just do the mod. For the long term I could see cracking as a possible issue so I will let my buddy fix the bracket

    Thanks Dan,

I am going to order one. You know its funny started feeling vibration at about 55-60mph wonder if it has anything to do with this? Also I am only stage 1 CAI. I will try the bracket first before I see if my tires need rotated as I did hit a curb but drove over 700 miles since that incident and did not feel anything before, but started feeling it this week right after putting on the CAI

I'm not too sure how "bad" the vibration is, but if it was because of the intake....you'd notice it more at idle and/or with your foot on the brake.

You wouldn't notice it when you're up to speed

I actually just installed mine Friday. I pieced it all together and everything fit like a glove. Bracket and all. I did order a modshack bracket which I don't need because the apr version had it. Anyone wanna buy the modshack bracket?

I just installed mine over the weekend and I'm having the same issue of the "L" bracket not fitting. The CC RAM Air Bracketry seems to push the intake back just far enough that the supplied "L" bracket won't fit near the battery housing. I don't have any vibration issues yet but I would like more support for the intake. I will look into the modshack version.

Just ordered one! Steve at ModShack was very quick and responsive. He said over 50 others have ordered this for their APR Carbonio intake as well. Works much better than the supplied "L" bracket from APR.

    Just email Steve at seschwing@earthlink.net

Golfmk6.com eats those brackets up from him, lol
