I think it still looks good. Not in a modern, could-be-a-brand-new-design-today sort of way, but it is aging gracefully.

Well, it's been awhile since the S2000 went out of production, but I still think the design looks fresh. What does TCL think.

Absolutely, but so do the M roadster and Boxster.![]()

I've never been a big fan of Honda but I always thought the S2000 looked pretty good. It's too bad they never made a factory coupe version though.
#5
Every time I see a clean AP2, I do a double take (miss mine dearly).
It's definitely one of the few designs that really age gracefully, and hands down one of the best designs out of Honda ever, aside from the NSX.

It's aged well in my opinion, it doesn't look new but it looks relevant and most people wouldn't know the design is from the late 90's

Absolutely.
The car has a timeless, angular design.
I hesitate to say this, but I categorize it similar to a 1967 Jaguar XK-E, in that it will always look the part.

I love the design but what will make it stand the test of time is everything else that makes it up
Every time my neighbor see's me he tells me how much he likes the car. He also thought it was brand new and had to sit down when I told him it's an '02.

I think it does. I routinely get asked if my car is a new or newer car. It's got some really classic body lines with the long hood, sharp top crease lines, and smoother sides. I have also always liked the look of the tail lights, which look sporty without looking like craptastic altezza's.

Does the design stand the test of time? No, not really
Does the car overall stand the test of time? Without a doubt, especially with where Honda is right now

AP1 looks dated to me, unless it has an OEM front lip... in which case I think it looks pretty fresh. AP2 definitely still looks modern.

Its a clean car with no tacky add-on, I think it'll stand the aging process well....

Meh, still couldn't look at it everyday.

It still looks good, it's a clean design, but not brand new. I actually think the last-gen Prelude looks fresh.

Absolutely. Modern design and fashion meets tradition. IMO it can't lose

Only VWs stand the test of time!
I keed.
The S2000 still looks good and will for years to come.
Look at your signature, now back to mine, now back to yours, now back to mine. Sadly, yours isn’t mine.

It will always look good to me.
But I may be a bit biased. Wanted one since I was a kid... just always LOVED the design. I still have the Tyco Canned Heat R/C car I got when it came out as a concept.
Too bad I didn't get NFR![]()

Its a great, very clean design, that I think will always look good![]()

I think so, especially the late model refreshed cars though it might be a bit too early to tell.

It's a fairly simple design with traditional lines, so it should age well. The only thing I see is that the headlights are definitely shaped by the era it was produced in.

I saw an AP1 and AP2 next to each other at a dealership and the AP2 still looks funky fresh.
Tail lights look dated on the AP1.
#25
so does most cars around the year 2000?
#26
I think the Headlights kill it. It looks in whats the word....Sedan-ish
In fact ever since pop up's where banned I think most car companies strugged to make their head lights look Sport-ish in sports cars . I think even the new GT86/BRZ looks tooo sedan like to me from the front
Now if you want to know how to do it right just look at the Murcielago

I saw a very clean red S2000 with a hardtop yesterday and thought to myself "Damn, those still look like a million bucks!"

I think the S2K has aged very gracefully, the Ap2 configuration fixed some funny design bugs IMHO, I used to have an 02 S2k, what a superb car, now, headlights old vs new ...
ON the NSX case Honda did a good job refreshing, but the pop ups look better IMHO
On the S2k case, the Ap2 looks overall much better

It helps that there was only one generation of the car (AP1/AP2 still fundamentally the same design). There's no newer model to compare it to. It definitely is still quite striking though. I love the fenders, long hood / short deck, and the overall subtlety.

i'll have to throw my favorite pic of my s2000 now...
i will say the bigger AP2 white wheels make it look a lot "younger" or more sporty. i do like the appearance of the AP2 nose a little bit more as well though. otherwise i see them as equal.

Saw one on a motorcycle ride Sunday. Thought to myself, "that's still a sexy car"

I wish the used prices would come down on them. There are a few in my area that are in the mid-upper 20k range.

I own an AP2 and love the clean lines.
Interesting that the last 2 yrs of production, my dealer couldn't give them away (they used to sit in the showroom for 6+ months) and today, if a clean cpo AP2 comes into the used car lot, it sells within 48 hours.
