Just want to give an open thanks to both H2O Tuning and the people of Helen for providing a great weekend in a beautiful location. I've been going to H2Oi since 2006, I've done Waterfest a few times, and been to most all the smaller East Coast shows, and I've gotta say this was the best by far! Everything was well organized, the events surrounding the show itself were fun and kept most people out of trouble, the location is nearly perfect, can't say enough good things. To think the event is free as well, and that so much is given back to the attendees, is shocking and wonderful all at once.

Also, to the people of Helen, thanks for putting up with us for a week, I know a bunch of young people hooning in cars and drinking can be tiring, and that our group brings a couple asses with all the rest of the good people, but you all do a wonderful job of not just taking it in stride, but of welcoming us with open arms! No other place I've ever attended a VW event (save small, local shows) has been so welcoming and genuinely happy to see us, and it is great we can work together and get along so well.

Helen PD, thanks for not ticketing everyone in sight. If I were in your shoes I would not be nearly as patient. Your professionalism, especially with such a small force, is to be commended. Even in very trying moments, I saw nothing but the best from you all. And to the officer who hates cars on bags, I give

Here's to a bright future and even bigger and more exciting event in years to come!

agreed. i've been to a ton of shows over the past 10 years.

this is an epic location. and great people in the town. and surrounding areas. reggie the guy at the cigar shop on 129 was super helpful, friendly, etc.

i def will be looking at doing a week there next year. i take my $ where people want it and provide a good level of services.

Waterfest, did it 3 times, i'm over it. Great times though. Did Waterwagens, great show, great people, but really spread out and a bit harder to have a good time. Did Dubs at the Beach and H20 a couple of times and looking forward to H20 2012.

Did Eurowerks last year in Minneapolis, and that town can suck it. Makes NJ roads look driveable in comparison. You can plan on an alignment after going through Minnesapolis.

    suggestions for SOWO:
-Maybe some port a johns on the hotel side of the river throughout the park and between the hotels and what not -- didn't really like running into businesses and feel like infringing.

-maybe use both sides of the river for the show if possible - heard that they did that last year

really pretty much perfect show though.

To add to the suggestions (because nothing is perfect)

    more toilet facilities
Perhaps allow club parking, ala H2Oi in the past and Waterfest
    keep up the excellent work!

Also, on the both sides of the river thing, at awards they were discussing the future as the event grows, and the desire is to continue to have things throughout the town, on both sides of the river, they just haven't gotten to that point yet

exactly nothing is perfect but they have it pretty dialed in already.

let's try to keep the token knuckleheads to under 10 percent of us. peer pressure always works when you see idiocy verbally smack them down.

if it's at a hotel, let the management and cops handle it.

as long as people are having fun, safely, that's all i care about. if you're in a hotel parking lot getting wasted, but you're not starting a fight not driving, etc, i don't have a problem with it.

happy drunks, good, angry drunks bad.

finally made it to sowo. rode with a buddy, drank some beers, stayed outta trouble, saw some amazing cars i never had the chance to before, and met some of the nicest people both in and out of the vw communitiy. will definitely be going back next year. it was so worth the 12 hour drive. also would like to give a special thanks to the town of helen, H2Otuning and everyone that helps provide all of us with this show.

I think they did a great job. Though with the amount of people that came this year, they may have parking issues next year if it increases.

I also think eventually they will need to have 2 or more foot bridges across the creek if they want to be able to use both sides, walking around takes awhile. The hotel side that was used for the show grounds last year ended up being the overflow lot this year.

For those complaining about the cops, if you don't do stupid **** and keep the open containers off public property (sidewalks/streets) they won't bother you.

So i've been coming to this event since that rainy mother's day weekend in 07, always had a great time i never ever thought it would be as big as the past two years, i swear it tripples in size every year. i always strive to bring something different every time. even though i have brought out the 91 GTI 50% of the time, twice as a 16v once as a vr. i even brought my formmer daily and beater an 85 e30 cause i was held up on parts while doing the vr swap. i was very shocked when yall directed me into the show area to park too.(that was year three) so brought the og 85 GTI last year got a needs more low sign even though i was completely bottom'd out and couldn't go any lower unless i was on air or wanted to cut up sutch an original car but thats ok. so this year i thought i would change it up and bring something unlike everyone else i rolled an airccoled, my patina'd blue 68 type III squareback, even brought the misses too. I'm slowley converting her to a euro chic. i grew up in the area and always hoped a show like this would bless this little town. exiting the show it took me back to my high school days mid nineties driving in my 80 baby blue diesel rabbit cause the girl i dated lived on that street. thanks h2o for all that you do to make this happen in what seems like my back yard

SOWO is my favorite show to go to every year. This year I feel they hit the nail on the head. I was skeptical about it being on the other side of the river in the field. But its like they thought of everything. Parking cars the day earlier was a super smart idea, and they seemed to have traffic control down pat.

As far as the city goes, I hope the bad seeds don't put a bad taste in their mouth any time soon. I have been coming for the past 4 years and I see more and more retards every year.

My hats off to everyone involved in making the show go off so well, and the city for putting up with the massive influx of cars and people in a matter of a day.

The BBQ joint was still closed this afternoon when we left due to no food. Bummer because that place is soooo good.

this was my 2nd year attending and now its a yearly event for sure.

i'm very thankful to the team at H2O tuning -- hopefully unlike last year you guys didn't get stranded in the backwoods of TN with a fussy MK2 VR6

the city of helen i thought was great as well -- it IS a lot of people to put up with, but in general it seems that most of the show crowd is pretty good. i talked to a few locals that were just stunned by just how many people we had come to the show, and they were very appreciative of our business (i know i sure hell spent a lot)

my only complaint the whole weekend was i thought our cabin at river bend condos was absolute ****, and the manager was a complete *******. but that has nothing to do with the show at all

I'll keep that in mind for next year when making reservations.
    Yeah, it's an 8v. If I wanted a sporty car, I'd buy an R.

yes sir lived here all my 32 years. and been owning and driving old vw's and other euro's since i was thirteen. i bought that squareback 5 years ago it had been in a chicken house for 25 years. i drove it for 2 years took it to tampa fla twice then parked it for the last three since i sold the motor to help finance my down payment on my house. got a new motor in a trade deal and it's been back in action the last month and a half. 1500 miles and counting. odds are if you've seen an A2 GTI around here then you've seen me. only one in gainesville that i know of. my family has the oldest european repair shop here too where i work as a technician.

Thanx Helen for having us. Also, thanx to all sponsors and organizers. The show was pretty cool this year. The layout worked but seemed a bit tight.
Over all I've enjoyed the event and will be back next year.

Thank You again to all involved.
